Not spare a rod.

Dear Mothers, Fathers and Guardians, of the steem community.

It is public knowledge the conversation about whether to spank children or not when they do wrong.
I am glad my parents never spared the rod while raising me. You have to man handle some children to get them on the right path.
In today’s world, we have people who wish they could go back to their parents and have curfew again so that they use the curfew to make precious family memories cooking and dining together. They wish they stayed home during those good old youthful nights instead of spending them with around shisha pots with strangers, snorting everything snortable, helping friends to learn how to cheat on their spouses, talking about how to get rich quick (getting rich the illegal way).
Each child is different but the only similarity we have is the ability to make mistakes.
Looking back, i have no grudges at all for how my parents reprimanded me when I took the wrong turn. I am glad they love me enough that they would not mind hurting my feelings if it is the only way to stop me from falling into harm’s way.

That said, i don’t condone punishment that will inflict life threatening injury or lead to death. Neither should hate be embedded within the act of punishment as heard from stories of some people’s stepmothers.
I challenge you to look at our society today without bias and tell me if we are better off now than we were 20 years ago? No we are not!
I know someone out there will .

Discipline is good but...."spare the rod and spoil the child"
