Inside Pandora-The World of Avatar

Both my husband and I knew Pandora would be opening its doors this year, but didn't even think about going yet. A few months ago I get home from work and my husband tells me he has a surprise for me. Of course, me being me I started asking him about it non-stop and he ended up telling me. He had bought us annual passes for Disney World and we'd be going to Pandora-The World of Avatar's opening weekend!

Pandora-The World of Avatar is located inside Disney's Animal Kingdom, which we thought fit the theme very well. Here's a picture of the tree of life.

Once we got to the entrance of Pandora, since it was opening weekend, we could tell it would take hours to get to ride "Avatar flight of passage". That's what we'd come for though, so we had to endure the waiting.

Everything was so beautiful that honestly, we were ok with it. Except of course that this is Florida, so you will NEVER escape the heat in Summer. It was ridiculously hot and humid, but we had to make the best of it! We really recommend you come around Sept-March when temperatures will be much nicer and avoid Summer months. If you aren't able to then make sure you come prepared (bring hats, sunglasses and lots of water for example).

When we finally reached the inside part away from the sun we noticed the decor was very nice. At first, you'll be in what looks like a cave with Na'vi writing on the walls and then later it turns into a darker scene with remains of an old abandoned building from RDA (the mining company from the film)slowly being covered by greenery and all over you could see the pretty plants that seem like they light up like in the movie.

When you get close to the actual ride you'll see a Na'vi floating in an amnio tank. When we saw this we thought it looked SO REAL! It's literally floating in there like something that's actually alive. This picture was taken with my iPhone 6s btw.

You don't need to worry about being "first", there is no "front seat". It's a 3D motion simulator ride that will take you on an amazing ride through the world of Avatar! You'll be sitting in what looks like a motorcycle type seat leaning your body forward. You'll be following a Na'vi flying on a Banshee of your own through the air making sharp turns and getting splashed on while going over the ocean. You can hear and also feel the Banshee breathing between your knees like if it was truly happening. The ride is about 4 minutes and has 8 link-chairs per room facing the screen where you'll be looking/flying at. Right behind the link-chairs, there will be room for you to put all of your belongings before the ride begins, so you don't have to worry about where to place your things and just focus on the ride.

Pandora also has another ride called "Na'vi river journey", which people said was very pretty, but we didn't have time to visit because it was our last day in Orlando and the line was also extremely long. We are most definitely checking it out next time though!

Below is a little video we made of that day. Make sure to watch in HD!

NOTE: We were very sad to find out most of our "really awesome" footage was actually very bad due to our camera having major issues we weren't aware of (very frustrating). Even so, we wanted to share a few scenes with you guys. Hopefully this doesn't happen again! Hope you guys understand and enjoy!

I can't wait to go again! Great post!

That's AWESOME! That's actually a great time to go. Make sure to check out other things happening around October in Orlando, so you get the best out of your trip. You'll have a blast! :)

You will love it! @lifebeyondgaming one of the best rides in Disney

Si, tienes que ir cuando vengas para lo de Halloween! Te va a encantar!

That Na'vi looks so real . I want to go check it out because it seems like a great experience.

You should! It really does look like the real thing. You would love it and although the lines are long, it's worth the wait. :)
