So, back in the day when we use to roll with a NOKIA 3310, there was no Internet easily accessible as today. When we wanted to keep ourselves busy you would play some sports outside with dolls or cars or what ever little highly valued toys you owned. Mother and father did not just buy what ever we wanted as there was only money for the necessary, but anyway I had a excellent child hood and never went to bed hungry, so that is a blessing.   

In Today’s time the internet are like spider webs, it is literally every where you go, I mean just focus on your phone when walking in a shopping mall, every 2 seconds your phone wants to connect to a new network, now that is actually amazing and scary at the same time.

But now the big problem comes, most of the children today do not play outside anymore, they do not social face to face as we use to do, they are permanently either on an Ipad, Ipod, Iphone, PlayStation or Xbox or what ever type of device, and if you want to see all hell break loose in our house then you take that device they are playing with, it seems like one of his dinosaurs has died or one of their pets, it is really a ugly nasty thing to witness, kicking, screaming and crying in a manner you would not believe.

If there is no Internet they will not play the games and watch the movies that we downloaded on the Ipads. They will not touch the Ipads, next they will collect mom’s phone or daddy’s laptop.    

Something that really bothers me is all this violent and ugly videos of children with bad manners, screaming fighting etc. on YouTube, You will choose to watch a animation movie that is meant for the smaller children but with all these nonsense that is pre-loaded on side bar, it is so easy for the younger children to scroll and change whatever you have given them to watch, just take the time and look for a educational program on YouTube, and one, two, three clicks away you end up on a channel that is far beyond the age restriction for children.   

Now I am not saying Internet is all bad, it is a really helpful tool if used in the right manner. I think we should only ensure there is a balance between Devices and real time play, and unfortunately you have to monitor what they are watching as it is so easy to find something else to watch. The world is so cruel these days and there is so much violence and by giving the children access to devices and let them do what ever they want, they will end up witnessing things that they do not need to see at their age.   

So let’s watch our children and enforce the balance, it will be difficult now but later in their lives they will understand
