Teachings | Only one fruit for three hungry

in #story7 years ago (edited)

Tells a story that on one occasion three young people were lost on the mountain. They were about to starve when they found a fruit in a tree. The problem was that only one fruit did not seem to be enough to feed all three. Then they decided to pray to God to help them solve the problem.

God, upon hearing that plea, wanted to test their wisdom, spoke to them and asked each one what they wanted him to do to solve the problem.

The first replied: "Make more food appear in the forest." God answered that this was a response without wisdom, because he should not expect the solution to the problems to appear magically.

Then the second one said: "make this fruit grow so that it is enough for everyone". God told him, it is not wise to ask that things multiply out of nothing, because man does not conform and always wants more, without making any effort.

The third young man said: "My Lord, take away our pride and make us small so that this fruit reaches everyone." The Lord answered: "You have asked well, for when man humbles himself and dwarfs before me, he will see prosperity."

Many times we hope that God will "immediately" solve all our problems, without striving and without changing anything in our lives.

In addition we tend to be selfish and ask God to satisfy the hunger of the needy instead of asking for humility and generosity in us to share with them "the little or much" that he has given us.

When we approach God with humility of heart, he is pleased to make us great and strong to overcome our difficulties.

"If my people, on whom my name is called, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins, and I will heal their land. "2 Cro. 7:14
