The Golden State Warriors hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder at Oracle Arena on Tuesday night in a matchup that featured ex-Thunder teammates Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. The Warriors returned home after a three-game road trip, included losing two of the games against non-playoff contenders.
The Thunder were charged behind Westbrook’s motivation to beat his ex-teammate, breaking out for 21 points in the first quarter, helping his team take a 42-30 lead. Oklahoma City continued their offensive onslaught posting 70 points and taking a thirteen-point lead into the half, despite Durant’s 27 first-half points.

The Warriors have feasted on their opponents in the third quarter this year but the Thunder were ready to counter. Oklahoma City clamped down on the explosive Warriors, holding them to 20 points in the quarter and building their lead to 22. Golden State was never able to get within 15 points of the Thunder as they won, going away, 125-105.
Paul George led the Thunder in scoring with 38 points, followed by Westbrooks near triple-double (34p, 9r, 9a). Durant did all he could to beat his former teammate, posting 33 points to go along with Steph Curry’s 21 points in the loss.
