When I look back- A poem of what I’ve overcome (Day 1)

When I look back amidst the troubled winds of life,

where death at times so good it seemed,
doubt commingling with faith and fear with lingering hope,
Wooing waves were unforeseen then seen so soon on once so soothing seas,
those I loved would preach me demise and yet it found no dwelling in the lips of those I never knew,
To say the least I drowned the most and it threatened me to blow the ghost.

My eyes would then look up at last to see the clouds on which the stool of glory laid,
A hymn to sing would often move the feet of God besides the stool and bended knees would make my changing faith to grip upon unchanging love,
then soon I looked and look the winds would blow and swerve so smooth when 'peace be still' would shut the whelming storms.

O whence my heart was now too deeply moved that why would e'er such God be touched by the feeling of my infirmities?
To take the blame I owned but could not bare and bleed for self that often doesn’t care,
Yet would He to shake all the earth and stars just to meet my need and save my mortal filth.

And so as I look at how His goodness passed before me,
It's far too clear that He's brought me here and will surely lead my future there!

Good start, we wait several more days. I invite you to read mine Greetings.

Hey @apostle-atarah! I enjoyed your contemplative piece. Ended on a nice note of hope, too. You had some really interesting wordplay and sound rhythms. For now I will place in Intermediate but don't be surprised if you move to advanced :-D

That’s awesome to hear! Need to keep pushing, I learn a lot from others poems too 👌🏾

Yes keep at it man... you will improve greatly with this challenge... I see a lot of potential in your writing to expand to much greater levels!

Keep it up my friend!

With Love
