Being a mother is a long journey of daily teachings. We remember with clarity the days when we took them to the school full of illusion, magic and songs. His first words and first letters ... It seems like yesterday. Suddenly one day he stares at his face and with a firm voice says: '' MOM I AM NO LONGER A CHILD, I AM AN ADOLESCENT ''. You do not know whether to speak or continue to be serious at that moment. What if! Time came to sit down and talk about it.

He, (my son) is 10 years old and has realized that something is going through his body.
It's time to talk about the subject.

First let's find out what the ADOLESCENT or PUBERTAD.

It is a time of biological, psychological, sexual and social development followed by childhood. Generally its beginning is framed between 10 and 12 years, and its completion at 19 or 24.1

This could happen to females and males:

• You can have acne (pimples, pimples, etc.) on your face and body.
• Transpiras (sweats) more, and you can have a bad smell in the body because of that and you must use deodorant.
• Hair grows under the armpits.
• Hair grows around the genitals (called pubic hair).
• You may have more hair on your legs and arms, and it may darken.
• You can feel some pain in your legs and arms, this means that you are growing.

Now we will know what changes we will present in the boys and girls during that time.

Men:

• Your voice becomes more grave.
• Your penis and testicles are enlarged.
• Hair can grow on your face, chest and back.
• Your shoulders and chest are widened.

Females:

• The breasts will grow.
• The voice is more acute.
• Your hips will widen.
• You start with your period / rule monthly.

In this stage, physical changes are not the most important, but psychological ones, that is why we must be very attentive of their behavior and create security in them. Many times they feel rejected, with low self-esteem, not understood. They do things (sometimes inadequate) to be accepted in groups.

Our job as a father is to create in them a clear identity, to explain clearly what you are going through in your body.
They are normal processes in our life and it means that we are growing.

I continue to grow with my son and I enjoy every stage of his life, and you?
