LIVING BEYOND YOUR EMOTIONS
"The average person has 70,000 thoughts every day, and many of those thoughts trigger a corresponding emotion. Now wonder so many of us often feel like we're controlled by your emotions" An excerpt from Joyce Meyer's book, Living Beyond Your Feelings.

Emotions is defined as instinctive or intuitive feeling as distinguished from reasoning or knowledge.

Most times as human we let our emotions define who we are, what we do and how we handle things. This morning I was talking to a close friend, and I related my challenge as a writer to him, how some handle trivial issues using their spirituality. I further stated in the conversation that a man said something on my post one day and his comment weakened my morale and point of view. I became worried about his words, but my friend told me to have a high morale, and not bother about people's opinion.

"Happiness, joy, peace and whatever else shouldn't be based on people or things". After he said this I reasoned and asked if I had been living my every day life based on what people think of me.

Here are few things I learnt

  • Have self confidence in yourself, you need to build it if you don't have.
  • Surround yourself with people that have the same school of thought with you
  • Accept critics, whether destructive or constructive with a good heart, rather than get filled with strive and anger.

Doing these will help you live beyond your emotions
