Steem Meetup forming...

I would like to meet with people in my area. I am from the Florida panhandle. I am considering starting a Steemit/Bitcoiner Meetup in Navarre FL is there a way to reach Steemit members in my area other than with the "post and hope" method? I welcome any input here as I am a little new to the Steemit platform.

This is a social network. I want to socialize. Make friends. That sort of thing.
