HOW FAR ARE PEOPLE WILLING TO GO TO BECOME WINNERS? Share your view

111.jpgThis is my last post within next week or two (as I'm moving to Europe within few days . Long there is journey ahead of me).

Guys wish me safe flight :)

INTRODUCTION

line2.png

About a week ago, a friend of mine contacted me and suggested to join the second edition of this huge contest organized by @theycallmedan. Many of you, dear readers, are most likely familiar with @theycallmedan initiative and with rewards that were offered to winners.

To cut a long story short, the winning community would receive a total of 20k STEEM POWER delegation for an entire year. The only unfortunate catch is: the winner takes all.

After passing towards the second round (along with 20 other competing communities) and being placed at that time at 2nd place, I decided to "team up" with 2 other communities: @help.venezuela and @SteemChurch knowing, that by working together we may or may not have the chance to win main prize.

BUILDING ALLIANCES

line2.png

My main goal from that moment on was to give up my own goals and desires to become a "small whale" and instead help one of those two communities to win the main prize.

I imagined that it would allow to build great trust between a few community leaders, which in return can benefit greatly many people involved.

After all is there any better way of building TRUST, than investing my own time, energy and resources to support someones else cause? Working closely together with they CEO @Emiliocabrera has been very refreshing and I only learned to respect this person more than I already did.

Past few days have brought us much closer and we learned to work together. For that reason I already feel victorious on so many levels. Regardless of the results of this contest.

Few people already asked me what was the end result and goal I was trying to achieve. Some people were not pleased that I'm getting involved in supporting community build on common passion towards religion. And since they may have a valid point, please allow me to share my vision with you all.

WHY @STEEMCHURCH?

line2.png

In my previous post BUILDING AN ALLIANCE: Ambitious goal?
I introduced my idea of building alliance with my dear friend @achim03 (managing @help.venezuela) and one of Venezuelan community:

@SteemChurch

Main vision behind our collaboration with @SteemChurch was simple: I believed and I still do, that learning to work together and building trust can benefit many people from both our communities in real life.

How?

I'm personally in touch with a large number of Venezuelans and since SteemChurch is a Venezuelan community of Christians, then naturally introducing my followers to a local strong group of people supporting each other.

On the other hand, SteemChirch leaders would introduce some people from their own community, who know decent english and share similar passion toward blockchain, crypto, economy etc. And together with few friends we were planning to take those people "under our wings" and help them grow.

After all (the way I see it) Venezuela is a frontliner when it comes to mass adoption of crypto by regular people. Because of their current situation and lack of stable currency. So my ultimate goal is to support those people with knowledge, experience and time.

Which I believe is in the interest of everyone involved in crypto.

ps. I also would like to mention, that leaders of SteemChurch agreed to my suggestion that in case of our victory (we were winning at that time with almost 20 votes) they will share some of received prize with 2-3 other competing communities. They proved that we have very similar values and view on life.

FULL RESPECT for that!

CONGRATULATION TO @SteemitBloggers

line2.png

Competition isn't over yet, but at this stage is pretty obvious that @SteemitBloggers managed by @jaynie and @zord189 are going to be a leaders in that contest.

Congratulations to both of you.

Just yesterday SteemChurch finally has been strongly ahead leading this competition and then I started receiving messages asking me if it's true that we're playing dirty and paying people to vote on SteemChurch.

I'm sure anyone can imagine how surprising and shocking it has been for me, to realize that we were accused of "buying votes" it just to win.

The impact of those wildely promoted accusations has obviously an enormous impact on our campaign. I must be really naive, as I believed that contests like this one should get people and community leaders together. And I didn't expect that one can reach out for those resources and discredit so badly work of others.

Small (very mild) example of things I've learned about us:

I think we should all remember that Steemit is very small and many of us have mutual friends. And obviously seeing printscreens full of hate and accusations is simply painful. That's just wrong.

What I've heard about "myself" within the past 24 hours really put me off from participating in this contest for much longer. Is this what this platform has come to? Reduced to slandering other communities just to get ahead of a "competition"? Worst of all, there were no facts nor evidence of this blatant accusation.

IMPORTANT STATEMENT

line2.png

I would like to reassure everyone here,
that based on my knowledge noone supporting @SteemChurch, @help.venezuela or @crypto.piotr during this contest paid to anyone for voting on them.

I need to make it clear and I can only hope that those words were only said by our "competitors" in the heat of the contest. I do not hold hard feelings for anyone involved.

As a matter of fact, if somehow SteemChurch would win, then my suggestion of sharing part of 20k SP delegation with OTHER COMMUNITIES (mostly @SteemitBloggers) would still be on the table.

I understand that discrediting "opponents" is part of the strategy (politics). and I can only hope that this statement will help to clear out our name, as it has been really seriously damaged by non-factual accusations as mentioned above.

My main goal of this post is to "clear the air" and avoid escalating of tension between our few communities.

SPECIAL THANKS

line2.png

I invested long hours within the past few days to support @SteemChurch, but I wasn't the only one who did so.

And today I would love to shout "BIG THX" to a few special people.

@juanmolina, @lanzjoseg - Many of you know those two already. Both are from Venezuela, with great heart and awesome knowledge about blockchain. If you're trying to get to know supportive and active Steemians then definetly you shold check out their profile.

@emiliocabrera, @sirknight, @uyobong - Those tree representatives of SteemChurch community proved to me, that we can still be "humans" even in a country with an economy as destroyed as the one in Venezuela. Loved their engagement and effort they invested. Especially Emilio - this is a kind of guy who has a real vision and determination to reach it.

@danielwrites, @neavvy, @flash07, @thetimetravelerz, @intellihandling, @edgarare1, @andyjem - I seriously wouldn't make it all happen without your constant support guys. It's so hard to express my gratitude for all you did to support this initiative.

Please accept my apology if I had failed to mention anyone else, as those were really few long days and my brain is half-dead already.

Resteemed Piotr.

Mate, you are a genuine character with a zest for life.

Have absolutely loved what you have done to bring this competition to life. And whilst it appears I have a little mopping up to do ;) meeting you and your friends was well worth it.

Don't let the haters get you down. They seem to be everywhere these days, making up their rules as they go along. Rise above it mate and keep pushing the forward.

I know that you are going places Poitr. Well... Europe apparently (lucky for some). Safe travels!

SK.

I only heard about this controversy yesterday when someone posted about it, but I am always skeptical about accusations until I examine the facts. I know you @crypto.piotr have been sending messages to people with small transfers to promote posts you like for a long time. I've received them myself. I think most people consider it spam. Unlike most of these messages I've received, they weren't promoting a bot but actual real people's posts. Whether you had some sort of financial arrangement with those people is not clear, but I have clicked on a few of them and read them though it is not my general practice.

I do have a question for you, though. What exactly does this statement mean?

As a matter of fact, if somehow SteemChurch would win, then my suggestion of sharing part of 20k SP delegation with them would still be on the table.

This sounds like you did arrange to share the delegation with @steemchurch, but what exactly were the terms? Was this in exchange for spamming people's wallets with messages to read posts that encouraged upvotes? If not, then what exactly was the arrangement?

I thought about the "hear say" and the "accusations" that have been allegedly thrown around and from what I see in your post obviously the case, not just a case of "hear say" and the following is what I concluded:

It all comes down to a "football supporter" type of mentality.

Why do I say this, well, just like in football, we all support a team and when it comes to some international match then we all unite and support the/our national team.

Well, I saw the united front when we Steemians were voting on a poll put out by Netcoins.

The entire blockchain was spammed with posts, comments, wallet messages and likewise all the other social medias were bombarded too.

Yet now when it is an internal match being played, then it all comes down to a "supporter" or even a "hooligan" mentality at times.

So, don't feel bad about it all.

Not worth losing your time or patience with any of it, as I keep saying:

"Technology changes, human nature doesn't".

Life is what it is and people will be people, no matter what one does it all comes down to "yesterday is in the past and it is what a person does today that matters".

Cheers, wish you a safe trip to Europe.

Gods speed.

Dear @jackmiller

Thank you for those words very successful and encouragement.
My friend @crypto.piotr is an excellent person that only his actions can demonstrate the quality of person he is.

I support it. He is a good friend and his support is very important as many of us also know him for encouraging and helping many people in the world of Steemit

Indeed, be it on the blockchain, on social media or wherever, humans remain humans. Highly flawed beings refusing to accept their true nature.

It feels more like the Facebook-mentality to me... dirty people dirty tricks... only if you do such things yourself you blame others for it (zoals de waard is vertrouwt hij zijn gasten... dutch saying)

I can summarize this last week as "a great adventure".

It was hours of hard work trying to motivate the Steemians to support @steemchurch in the dpoll.

Today when there are only a few hours left to close the voting process, we are 29 points behind the first place.

Unless the audit favors us, unfortunately we will not achieve the delegation.

All the experiences of life leave you a teaching. You will always have a personal and spiritual growth.
This is how this experience was for me. Edifying in a lot.

I met valuable people. That is priceless.

It also served as a reflection. Since I could see the embarrassing side of the people inside steemit. Dishonest behaviors only moved by a greed without limits.

The lack of scruples of some, caused that for the first time in almost a year working on this platform, I received not one, but three red flags by some individuals that I prefer not to name.

Greetings to the community of @steemchurch. I appreciate them very much. We will continue working in the future if God allows it.

Your friend; Juan.

Well said Juan.

Friend @juanmolina

Only from there learning is the most important, the other is only added to different people and their ways of acting.

Así que, pa lante es paya

Friend @crypto.piotr

As we say in Venezuela: "to foolish words deaf ears." You know you have a lot of followers because you prove to be a real and sincere person, and as long as we all know the quality of a good person you are, we know that you are not able to pay anyone, to vote for some community.
Do not feel bad for those badly intensified words with nothing you can prove.
Also many of what we believe in you and you asked us to support that community, just by going to see the @SteemChurch blog, we realize the painstaking work they do both in steemit and outside of steemit.
I bet you that no other community that was participating in any of them take days to help the neighbor outside steemit, much less feed the needy.
That help does @SteemChurch with a lot of people who come off their stuff to help out steemit.
I live in Barcelona, Anzoategui State Venezuela, I can attest that delivery of food as well as others to hospitals, you know I made my inquiries to verify that.

Friend keep doing your great job of growing friends here at steemit.

You are still counting on my support and with the support of many.

Friend and from now on I tell you that we are going to miss you the time that you are without connecting or making any publication.
I wish you all the best for you and your family includes the little "Happy"

We nearly won, we are close, honest so we will find a way

Lets be magnanimous in defeat and keep our focus on what is important. Helping our fellow Earthlings be the best they can. We are all in this together. In life there will always be detractors and cheats. But we as strong human beings should rise above this, learn from it and move on. Cheers @crypto.piotr @steemchurch for a fight well fought. And well done to @steemitbloggers use your win wisely. But in the end lets all work together for a better @steemit and a better world. 😎😎

I think that what some people do not understand is when you send request through the wallet about things you are passionate about or want help or comments or feedback on. It is something you have been doing for a long time, and you always offer to stop sending them, (at least I have seen that in a few you sent me), so they could be confused about and or misunderstanding one of your prefered methods used to communicate when it comes to things you are passionate about. Nothing at all wrong with that, and if anyone thinks a $0.001 wallet heads up to something you are passionate about is vote buying, well they certainly do not place much value on their vote.

Hi @bashadow

I think that what some people do not understand is when you send request through the wallet about things you are passionate about or want help or comments or feedback on.

Indeed. Lack of understanding is usually the cause of most problems.

ps.
I only had a chance to read this comment a moment ago. Past several days has been very messy and I guess I missed your reply.

Please allow me to thank you for your constant support.

Truly yours, Piotr

I estimate Piotr, alias: @ crypto.piotr

Your publication is extraordinary and original, more than words, reflect your great heart. You are giving an example of values to the Steem community that is indispensable to mention:

Altruism
Amiability
Personal disinterest
Excellent motivator
Charismatic
Humility
Integrity
Among many things

I also confess that I did not like the attacks against a community that only seeks to love people, be social, encourage others, as it is @steemchurch. Our most important values do not have to do with demonstrating that we are better than others, but helping everyone to be better in love, faith, temperance, meekness and making many people happy.

As CEO of SteemChurch, we forgive those who offend us, and we invite you to get to know us better and work together.

Thank you @ crypto.piotr for joining us, for defending the integrity of this community and leave your commitment to the people you lead.

Good trip friend, how long is Asia if this great man?

Hi @emiliocabrera

Truly yours, Piotr

I don't think you were buying people's votes... I didn't know about the contest at all, so when you told me about it, I tried checking it out... I read the vision and goals of Steemchurch, so I decided to vote for it... :) If I wasn't touched or interested, I wouldn't really vote even if you informed me through memo... I hope that even though you didn't win, a lot of Steemians would extend a helping hand.. I knew of some Venezuelan Steemia here who are great artists and share the same hobby with me. :) I wish you all the best. God bless... 😁

Dear @tegoshei

I'm sorry for such a late reply. I only had a chance to read your comment now (somehow i missed it).

Thx for being so responsive and supportive.
