We as muslims have a belief:
A man can be tested by God in two ways:

  1. Either by having more than he needs.

Or

  1. By having lesser than his needs

One might consider latter being the more difficult one, but it’s not true. Having more wealth than you need is actually more lethal. We humans are victims of greed and want more than we ever have, we get so busy in the race of attaining more, we forget with great status come greater responsibilities, hence a harder test!

If you have more than your needs, start charity from today, as a needy person might never come to you and ask for it, due to his self-respect. Be a giver, it’s a quality of our Lord...He gives and gives, without having to ask anything in return but submission to His rules and commandments.

Let’s all join hands to start working towards a society which is balanced, where rich doesn’t get richer and poor are left to die, we’re all children of Adam, equal in all aspects.

I’d like to conclude this message on an Islamic tradition known as Hadith stating that in his final sermon the Prophet Muhammad, Allah's Blessings and Peace be upon him, said:

"There is no superiority for an Arab over a non-Arab, nor for a non-Arab over an Arab. Neither is the white superior over the black, nor is the black superior over the white -- except by piety."

Well said, I definitely agree! I wouldn't say being rich is harder than being poor though - rather they both are different trials of your soul. In the first one you need to face against greed and laziness, in the second one there's despair, sense of lack of justice and your own pride to overcome.
