Announcement of Voting Time Change

in #steem2 years ago

Upex announces they are officially switching to a start and end time each day as opposed to rolling 24 hours

Until now, anyone using the @upex voting service had to wait 24 hours between posts before getting their next upvote.

As you can imagine this caused some issues for people that do not post at the same time each day...

For that reason, we have decided to make the change to starting at midnight UTC each day.

In roughly 18 hours from this post, the code will change to where posts will be upvoted starting over at midnight UTC each day.

Meaning users can post any time during that day and get their upvote for the day. Then the day will start over again at midnight UTC and users can again get their upvote during the next day.

We think this will better accommodate users that were having trouble with the rolling 24 hour voting countdown.

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions and as always if we ever miss a post for whatever reason, be sure to let us know and we will gladly make it up for you.

Thank you for using @upex and for more information on how the service works or how to delegate, see here:

So that's why the voting has been inconsistent?

Most of the inconsistency either had to do with posting less than 24 hours from prior post or having very small delegation. There are only 3 integers on steem, so when things get really small, they don't work.

Okaj, Tonight I will increase my delegation. Thank you for the response.

You were never forgotten, the only reason a post is skipped is if it is posted less than 24 hours from the prior one...

finally, some consistency

There wasn't inconsistency, the only reason there was missed upvotes is if a user posted less than 24 hours from their prior upvoted post.
