My apologies for the lack of content over the last week. My elderly mother has not been doing well, and I've had to take off a few days and stay with her. She's 71, so time is not something on our side at this point. At any rate, today, she's doing better, and things are back to normal.
Sports news reporting as a whole is up across #steemit...which is a good thing!

Welcome to this week's post about our sports writing contest results. This week, we had several qualifying posts made directly on The World of Sports community page. After not having a winner last week, we had four first-place finishers this week. Those entries are linked/listed below for everyone to check out!

Week 1 was officially a success as we had several different people enter the pick 'em contest, and we had two winners: @pennsif won 50 STEEM for finishing in 1st place, and @joslud won 25 STEEM for finishing in 2nd. What's great about this is they both are not American Football fans, so they were picking in the spirit of competition more than anything.
