Fluffy

Afternoon everyone….

I started writing this post over a week ago now. It somehow got lost in my drafts on my profile in the Ecency app. But today it all of a sudden decided to pop up when I went into my drafts.

So here it goes…..

On Friday August 30, we went to see Gabriel Iglesias better known as “Fluffy”. The tickets where a birthday present from my girlfriends mom. She knows that I’m a big comedy fan and he is was on my bucket list of comedians that I wanted to see.

I been very fortunate to have seen some of the greatest comedians live during my life so far. Many of them are no longer with us. I’ve seen Richard Pryor, Sam Kinison, and George Carlin, all are all time greats and no longer with us.

I’ve seen George Carlin over twenty times. He did shows very often only seven miles away from my house at William Paterson College. He lived in New Jersey and used the college to work on his routines for HBO specials and bigger venues. Not only that but the tickets were dirt cheap. I think the highest we ever paid for tickets there was $13 a ticket. Most were under $10.

Let me get back on track….

First a little about Fluffy, this is a blurb from Wikipedia:
Gabriel Jesús Iglesias (born July 15, 1976) is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He has produced a number of stand-up specials for television outlets such as Comedy Central and Netflix, including I'm Not Fat… I'm Fluffy, and Hot and Fluffy. As an actor, he has appeared in numerous live-action and animated TV shows and films, including starring in the sitcom Mr. Iglesias on Netflix, playing Tobias in the 2012 movie Magic Mike and its 2015 sequel, and providing the voice of Speedy Gonzales in Space Jam: A New Legacy. He was also the host of the shows Stand Up Revolution on Comedy Central and Fluffy's Food Adventures on Fuse.

We had great seats for the show, we were about sixteen rows back which was great. Here was the one downfall to the night. I had to finish up a job before the homeowners left for Arizona where there daughter was having a baby any day now.

So I was up at 4:30 in the morning. On the job site by 6:00. I put in an extra long day finishing the job. I believe it was just after 6:00pm when I finished cleaning up and loaded up my truck.

I headed straight to my girlfriends for a shower and we left for the show. It was a Wind Creek Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Which is roughly an hour and fifteen minutes away without traffic. The tickets were for a 10:00pm show.

We got there in time and got in line to enter. The line was five rows and over a football field long. It was moving slowly and we barely got in by 10:00pm.

Unfortunately…..

There were still so many people waiting to get in that they delayed the show for nearly half and hour. The MC of the show is long time friend of Fluffy’s a comedian named Martin Moreno. I forgot the name of the opening comedian now, but he was really funny. He’s a normal Comedy Central opener, I just can’t remember his name.

It was nearly 11:40 before Fluffy came on because of the MC and opening act. Fluffy did a great show which last nearly two hours though. We didn’t leave the show till 1:45am. I was barely alive at that point. Good thing my girlfriend drove or we would’ve been in trouble.

There are no cell phone allowed during the show. They have people walking all over to ensure it. But at the end of the show, Fluffy tells everyone to turn their phones back on and take as many pictures as you want. I got a few as we were walking out.

The one comic that is still on my bucket list that I really want to see is Bill Burr….
