Deltanis / Where poetry and fantasy worldbuilding collide ~

Deltanis

It is known that for every word spoken,
For every speech given, and for every song sang,
There are thousands more that lurk in the depths of fear and doubt.

To roam the streets and alleyways,
Blind to the ever changing realm that lay at the forefront.
As the hesitant fall prey to the unknown,
The revolution diminishes in pools of reservation.

Such is the plight of the walking death.

With each passing phase of the moons,
And when each cycle begins anew,
There are those that fall deeper into the labyrinth of uncertainty.

For each corridor holds something novel,
And there are no lights to guide the way.
One must learn to spark their own eye,
Before the dawn may lend a hand.

Such is the prospect of the walking death.

The time will come, when a pair of eyes unfurl.
It is when all else fails, and the walls cave in.
For who would remember one with no name?

Octavon, Ellec, Rayna, Deltanis, it makes no matter.
The day they are reborn in the pyre’s grasp,
They will realize the walls were truly never there at all.
For the first time ‘certainty’ is without doubt.

Such is the rise of Deltanis.

This poem is more than just a free verse. This poem is a declaration of a prominent character in my book. It sets the stage for something much greater than all of us; A ceremony of rebirth.
