Common Ragwort Photoshare 18/9/2024
Photography or a single image I feel often captures those treasured moments in ones life, there is nothing quite like looking back and reflecting good or bad. But I also find that just like the act of writing our collective pictures can also be a art-form. The beauty and meaning of a photo can be expressed and shared in many ways including not even using a single word but instead just seeing what it makes you feel.
While I do enjoy photography I used to share those "everyday" type images that captures just those typical day to day activities, the feedback was mostly positive and so I continued sharing these "Ulog type" photos on Steemit.
Almost every picture as a story to tell right? Or at least that is what I was often been told by some of my followers when I first started sharing photos on here, and I would have to agree with them.
Today 18/9/2024 I share this capture.

Like I was mostly expecting "there would be some difficulty on getting out posts" this while I travel to visit my father. If your wondering why there may not be a post on a particular day, or why they may go out at unusual times it's because I'm travelling at the moment. Having a stable internet connection or "the environmental means" to put out a post may not always be possible for the next week or 2. Last night I went to sleep earlier than the usual late hour since the previous night I'm confident in saying I had zero actual sleep due to sleeping somewhere that's not my usual bed. It was impossible as I have trouble sleeping in a new bed for the first one or 2 nights, I'm hoping this will improve soon but if we go on that road trip we will stay in hotels and I will likely have the same problem. Since my eyes were already trying to shut soon after getting up yesterday morning it was no surprise last night I got a lot more rest even if it took 1 hour and 30 minutes. The alarm was set for the usual time this morning as I thought id likely still not get that much rest. And this is to try and make sure I would have enough rest in a attempt to keep my sleeping pattern from getting worse. As for the weather this morning I was expecting it to be much sunnier, it was relatively cloudy but this happened yesterday with the heat later ramping up. But honestly it didn't get much warmer after, the plan yesterday obviously changed and I'm sure the same will happen for today. We still went for that meeting with a friend of my father who has been helping him a lot lately. However what we done instead is we had our meeting before going to lunch this will be over some papers and arrangements that he as prepared in the past 3 months. After the meeting we went for lunch where I tried some food that I had never tried yet which was highly recommended from my dad's friend. Later we went to get a rented car for the road trip, my dad drove around some familiar roads to get used to the new vehicle. We went to a nice spot by the beach and airport, it's a good area right by the run-way the sound of the plains taking off are amazing. On the return back to my dad's place we went to pick-up is bicycle, since it's too heavy for him I done most of the moving of it. With the bike back home we done a bit of shopping in the nearby market for dinner as I didn't want to have such a large meal and it was a opportunity to fill my dad's fridge with a few more things. Like you already know after dinner I made sure to go for a earlier night, I still wanted to go slightly earlier but my father continued to talk a lot. Now for today the plan as already been changed various times, but it looks like we may try and sort the places we have to go with the various documentation I brought with me. If that goes well it's likely we may start our road trip. On Steemit.com I'm glad to still see it working as it should, as for the "updated new look" for me personally I feel like it helps certain things stand out more, however I still feel like it's navigation could be improved. I was very worried about this but the changes aren't anything drastic. Hope you have a good day or night and I will see you on the next Steemit post.
Today's Picture
As for the picture today I share some flower photography, a quick disclaimer I understand that this type of photography on Steemit has a bit of a bad reputation. This is because it was often used by spammers to make like 8 posts each day.
Hopefully as you can see from my blog I'm nowhere near making 8 or more posts per day on the topic of flower imagery.
I believe this was captured on the way to work, just before the first actual road crossing and around this time the weather was starting to get better. Photographed in the very early morning and so for the time it would still be icy. In this particular photo you can see the stems much better they are in-fact still slightly iced over, almost frozen, which is many of the Ragworts are still sleeping.
I like how here if we take notice of "the sleepers side" the taller Common Ragwort get unfrozen first for various reasons and of course one of them is the sun.
Those above see the sun many happy faces of the Common Ragwort brings joy to us.
As we can see they are in clusters with flattened flower heads, they are a food source for many insects however they are said to contains many different alkaloids and thus making these a poisonous flower to certain animals. Strangely it seems for a flower so common there is still much about it that's not fully understood as in some cases it's been said to be used for medicine and that some animals are not affected by them.
I still believe these are indeed the Common Ragwort flower, and while this is likely what they are the plant itself however does give me some doubts. If you happen to know for sure, let me know in the comments section below, or tell me instead what it is you think they may instead be.
