My Trip To New York City

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

New York is without a doubt one of the most incredible and innovative cities in the whole world, there’s so many things to do and admire here and never get tired. On getting there it felt familiar from films and TV, yellow cabs, steam coming up through subway grilles, hotdog stalls, neon lights in Times Square, towering skyscrapers. I couldn’t get enough of it.

I and my family stayed at Residence Inn Marriott New York Downtown Manhattan. It's so close to the World Trade Center. We booked 2 rooms for 4 nights, which cost $2250. The hotel is really nice and cozy and it's close to a lot of the tourist attraction sites.
That's me right Outside The Hotel.

Here's a rundown of the places I visited.

The Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is undoubtedly the icon of New York. The statue stands on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. To view the statue up close, you can catch a ferry out to Ellis Island. Visiting the liberty island was a beautiful experience, You see, the Statue of Liberty isn’t just a huge statue of a lady, she’s a symbol of hope and freedom for the millions of people who emigrated to the USA.

The Empire State Building

The Empire State Building is best viewed from the Top of the Rock,The top of the Empire State Building might be New York’s most iconic viewpoint as it is directly in front of it’s south facing viewing platform. It was cool to see how big Central Park was from that height. We also had a great view of the Chrysler Building. At night it looks so cool! There is a light show every night.

That's me on the 86th floor of the empire state building

That Thing That looks like a phone hanging on my neck was my tour guide while climbing up the building, it tells you what to expect as you go up the building.

Times Square

Times Square is one of New York’s most famous squares. If you want to see the sky lit up with lights then this is your place to do so, it’s quite amazing to look up and appreciate. It’s definitely worth a trip during your stay in the city, it’s also in the heart of the theater district.

The 9/11 Memorial

The Memorial Park is a beautiful tribute to all those that lost their lives in the attacks. The site has all the names of those that lost their lives during the attack. If you want to learn more about the events, the museum serves as the leading collection of artifacts and documentation of September 11, Inside you can hear firsthand accounts of survivors, see picture and video footage of the attacks and see recovered objects such as a wrecked recovery vehicles, large pieces of warped metal. It’s located on the sight of where both towers used to stand and is definitely a must when visiting the city.

Staten Island Ferry

The Staten Island Ferry is a must do activity when you’re in New York, it’s completely free and it’ll take you past the Statue of Liberty and offer fantastic views back across to Lower Manhattan, there’s even a bar on board!

Brooklyn Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge is by far one of the most beautiful bridges that join Manhattan to the outer boroughs. Seeing the Brooklyn Bridge many times in the movies, I thought I should be familiar with it by the time I got there. But the truth is, no movie can tell how it feels, until you see it personally.

Here's a view from the Brooklyn Bridge at night its really amazing!!

American Museum of National History

This museum got me Awestruck, No matter which wing you wander through. Top things to see are the Dinosaur Halls on the fourth floor, Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, Akeley Hall of African Mammals, the Dark Universe Space Show in the Rose Center for Earth and Space, the Bernard Family Hall of North American Mammals, a 3D IMAX show in the LeFrak Theater, and at least one special exhibition like the Butterfly Conservatory.

Charging Bull and Wall Street

The Charging Bull is another significant monument in the city, located down in the financial district. This sounds crazy but they say once you rob the testicles of the bull. It gives you good luck. I took this picture from the top of our tour bus. I couldn't get down to touch it

The Peace Fountain

This was originally built to be a fountain, but it does not have any water in it.
The Fountain is located next to the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine (the largest cathedral in the world, though unfinished). The Peace Fountain celebrates the triumph of Good over Evil, and sets before us the world’s opposing forces violence and harmony, light and darkness, life and death, which God reconciles in his peace.

World Trade Center

The is the hub of the bustling Financial District, a top tourist attraction and a symbol of New York City’s–and America’s–steadfast devotion to progress and the future. On September 11, 2001, the World Trade Center became the target of a massive terrorist attack that took the lives of nearly 3,000 people.
