Storm clouds
We were desperate for rain and a storm was headed our way........the clouds built and built, so high they went!
Underneath was as black as night.
Still...we were in sunshine while 15ks away was getting torrential rain, completely blocking out the city and port.
Meanwhile at home, the maize fields were bathed in the setting sun,
Our beautiful native Tui bird was having her bath before bedtime.
The setting sun's rays hit the storm clouds turning them to fire.
We finally got some rain and an epic thunderstorm that took out the power...time to go to bed
Awesome photos again! No thunderstorms down here, but we have had a tiny bit of misty rain today, and the temperatures are a bit lower, which is lovely.
We have some tuis that hang out here too, and they like to have baths in next doors guttering. There have been a lot more native birds all across Wellington since the bird sanctuary in Karori opened.
How awesome, I just love birds. In this insane heat (its 31°c here this arvo) they depend on finding a good water source. Crazy how they bathe, have to fill the birdbath up after they have a swim/bath. Have a fantastic day and thanks for leaving a comment
