A sexy look at the "Proclivities" chapter of "Dark Pinup"!

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Good morning, Steemit! It feels so good to fall back in to my regular blogging routine. I’m here at @caffetto with a cup of coffee catching up on UFC fights, casually browsing Magic: The Gathering cards for my first Modern deck. It doesn’t take much to keep me happy; it’s mornings like this.

I mentioned in yesterday’s blog post, “The completed Dark Pinup front, back and spine cover design!” that my book with @wcpublishing, Dark Pinup, is finally finished. It’s been a full time commitment since last June and there’s an incredible weight lifted knowing that it’s off to the printer, out of my hands.

In celebration of the completion of Dark Pinup, I wanted to share a selection of sexy photos that made it in to the Proclivities chapter of the book. “Proclivities” was slightly underrepresented nearing the end of 2017. @wcpublishing and I realized the only one this section would have a place in the book was several provocative shoots in a dramatically short amount of time.

My long time friend Hayley contacted me around November of last year. She wanted to book a shoot to update her modeling portfolio and I mentioned that the book was in need of photos for the Proclivities chapter. We’d set a date and shot in ate December. Beautiful, sexy dark pinup up at her home in Minneapolis. I love that this photo made it in to the book.

Years ago, I shot Toronto model Holly Harlott during Viva Las Vegas. At the end of 2017, I had a travel tour throughout PA, NJ, NYC, Buffalo and Toronto, and Holly booked a shoot during my time in Canada. Always with a incredible collection of vintage wardrobe, Holly and I shot in this beautiful haberdashery in downtown Toronto. The sheer nightgown was a perfect look to make it in to Proclivities

@wcpublishing set up a shoot with Wisconsin model, Kitty, bringing her to Minneapolis just to help finish out the Proclivities chapter of the book. An outstanding model with natural beauty, I was able to shoot the quintessential dark pinup work that’s become the cornerstone of my style, and a few fetish looks courtesy of Bondesque in uptown Minneapolis.

I’ve wanted to shoot Danielle Otrakji since I first met her at C2E2 in Chicago. In addition to being a world class comic book illustrator, she’s a beautiful, accomplished model. She’s been featured in dozens of tattoo magazines, and as fate would have it, her recent move to NYC lined up with my last trip to the east coast in early January. We shot together at the historic Beauty Bar, just barely making it in to the Dark Pinup book.

Lastly, and as close to the wire as you could possibly get, I was able to bring together a shoot with tattoo model Ellie Rayne. In the final weeks of book production, @wcpublishing and I had a devastating set back. Thanks to incredible, dependable friends and a top shelf beauty team, I was able to shoot with Ellie Rayne during my last few hours in Las Vegas. Without exaggeration, this shoot brought the book together in the strongest of ways.

Thanks for reading! You can get your copy of Dark Pinup now during it’s pre-sale release at www.darkpinup.co I post daily. For more photography, illustration, art and the stories behind the work, follow me here @kommienezuspadt!

Hayley/that first shot is really nice. It would be interesting to see her in a really retro setting. Flappers 1920s style world to sit in.

A quintessential photographer @kommienezuspadt.

I'm glad the DarkPinup is ready for the market.

Your pictures are always extraordinarily magnificent

Very nice and super sexy

the art that is in each photo is unique, I love it

I love the sheer cloth over nipple look, it's always been a fave of mine. I can't wait to purchase your book but have been stalling on the pre ordering as I was wondering if there is a way to get a signed copy?

Very beautiful girls! The thumbnail photo looks nearly painted 😍

Stunning shots.

First one is Awesome

I really like the mood/light/tone/feel of your photography--not sure on the correct terms to use, it's just really good!

The last photo is super beautiful! The others are beautiful too. But I really like the last one. It's so atmospheric and vintage. All the details. The curls of the model, the clothes, her pose. It's like a shot from a beautiful old movie. Wow!
