[ENG-SPN] Mexicraneos Exhibition: a review of Death / Exposición de Mexicráneos: una reseña de la Muerte

Death, like this, with capital letters, like the Space of Gene Roddenderry's amazing saga, 'Star Trek', continues to be, no matter how you look at it, the last frontier and like this, it will always exert on the collective unconscious of Humanity, a whole magnetic range of sensations, which will induce us to try to pierce her impenetrable veil, turning us into metaphorical Scheherazades, willing to shuffle the thousand and one ways -comparatively speaking, too, and possibly falling short- of seeing her and relating to her.

Regardless of the fact that the Mexican is, traditionally, one of the cultures that seems to feel the most passion towards the cult of Death and its circumstances, it is still a great truth, absolutely, that this unites us all in one -it could be said - cultural heritage, many of whose rites and myths, are united in such a supernaturally artistic and attractive way, in which it could be said that all our schemes in this regard are represented, because it is still a great truth, deep down, that If there is something that truly equals us, it is nothing else, precisely, than Death.

La Muerte, así, con mayúsculas, como el Espacio de la alucinante saga de Gene Roddenderry, ‘Star Trek’, continúa siendo, se mire como se mire, la última frontera y como este, siempre ejercerá sobre el inconsciente colectivo de la Humanidad, toda una magnética gama de sensaciones, que nos inducirán a intentar traspasar su impenetrable velo, haciendo de nosotros unas metafóricas Scheherezades, dispuestas a barajar las mil y una formas -comparativamente hablando, también, y posiblemente quedándonos cortos- de verla y relacionarnos con Ella.

Independientemente de que la mexicana sea, tradicionalmente, una de las culturas que más pasión parece sentir hacia el culto a la Muerte y sus circunstancias, no deja de ser una gran verdad, en absoluto, que ésta nos hermana a todos en una -podría decirse- herencia cultural, muchos de cuyos ritos y mitos, quedan aunados de una manera tan sobrenaturalmente artística y atractiva, en la que podría decirse que todos nuestros esquemas al respecto quedan representados, pues no deja de ser una gran verdad, en el fondo, que si hay algo que verdaderamente nos iguala, no es otro cosa, precisamente, que la Muerte.
