On the last piece we briefly talked about, the types of “naked” photography, the elements of a good composition and what is boudoir photography. Today we will explore the model/client’s take on the photography session. Boudoir photography has gained a lot of popularity amongst young girls, newly engaged couples and specially on brides to be. It has been gaining so much popularity that experienced wedding photographers are also including or adding a special Boudoir session before or after the weeding to their pictures package. On occasions the bride gets the idea for the session but sometimes is the groom who brings the idea to the table. Whatever the case, the popularity of Boudoir is growing exponentially. If you fit into any of these categories there are a couple of things to consider before getting the pictures taken.

First things first, don't confuse Boudoir with showing you breast and vagina. Most Boudoir shooting are made with the model fully or partially dressed. Often most girls have a fear of going to the room with the photographer and have the photographer looking at them in their underwear but they have no problem going to the beach on a bikini.

Usually bikinis show more skin than lingerie so, if you hire a professional photographer (not a creepy guy with a camera), be confident that the photographer will do his job right and is not there to stare, having the pressure of getting the pictures right most photographers are worrying about, the background, the light conditions and the settings so rest assured that he is not waisting time getting mental pictures for later.

Is very important that you do your research and that you are comfortable with your wardrobe and your photographer. When a woman is not comfortable it shows on the pictures. So relax and talk to your photographer before the session takes place. If is your first time ask everything. What should I wear? makeup? hair? how long is the session? who can come with me?and everything else that comes to mind. On part 3 we will explore in details many of the questions the models have and how to approach every situation in a safe and fulfilling way so that this special day can be remembered as a special occasion that can be shared with your partner for the rest of your life. As always thank you for reading and remember to give some feedback as to what you think about this type of photography or things you want to discuss.
