The green peacock (Pavo muticus) is one of the birds of three peacock species. Like other birds found in the Phasianidae tribe, the green peacock has beautiful feathers. The feathers are golden green. Adult male birds are very large, its length can reach 300 cm, with a very long tail cover. Above his head was crested upright. The female bird is smaller than the male bird. The feathers are less shiny, grayish green and without the feathery tail cover.

Green peacock populations are scattered in open forests with grasslands in the People's Republic of China, Indochina and Java, Indonesia. Previously green peacocks were also found in India, Bangladesh and Malaysia, but are now extinct there. Although very large, green peacock is a bird that is good at flying.
