This is interesting. I certainly hope that you won't take and historical approach to the Bible teaching since they were never historical writtings.
They are allegorical stories explaining how we can come into contact, Manifest, that which we wish to manifest in our Individual Life.

If curious, you can listen to Mr. Neville Goddard lecture Consciousness is the only Reality.

The biblical texts definitely provide some value as a reference to history, where its focus on retelling events grows somewhat proportionally with the text's "youth". That being said, I agree that the Bible should not be known for its historicity. It's obviously a poor account of what really went down.

Continuing, my standpoint towards these texts will chiefly reflect something akin to your sentiments. What has allowed these stories to not only withstand time's tooth, but also flourish in the mind of man?
