Running Free | Original Illustration on Meditation

in #painting7 years ago (edited)

Hello Guys!

Today i want to share a little Illustration with you that i painted very loosely after i meditated, to capture what it felt like.
It's amazing just how powerful sitting down for a couple of minutes by yourself can be, especially if you keep it up!

At first i was very skeptical towards it, because i had a quite negative impression of anything closely related to spirituality, as it seemed to be just a lot of nonsense backed up by nothing other than imaginary thoughts.

However as i looked more into it, i saw how meditation was backed up by science, and the effects seemed to good to believe.

I had to give it a go!

As i learned how to do it (about 4 years ago), my life changed for the better drastically, and i can't imagine it without it anymore.

It's like a basic necessity now, just like sleeping & eating haha! Can't recommend it enough :)

Also, i was heavily inspired by Eckhart Tolle's insight on freedom:

“The beginning of freedom is the realization that you are not “the thinker.” The moment you start watching the thinker, a higher level of consciousness becomes activated. You then begin to realize that there is a vast realm of intelligence beyond thought, that thought is only a tiny aspect of that intelligence. You also realize that all the things that truly matter – beauty, love, creativity, joy, inner peace – arise from beyond the mind. You begin to awaken.”

He also wrote a book called "The Power of Now", which has helped me out a lot in becoming much more chill and creative. Definitely worth checking it out!

If you like it let me know! :)

Thank you!!
