Who knows this fruit's name?

in #nature20 days ago (edited)

My day yesterday 31st August, 2024 started with the sweet voices of South African high school students who did a great job on a song called "Uzozisola". It's actually an old song, but these students revived it with their unique creativity.

I also tasted a strange fruit which I haven't seen before. I don't even know the english name. How did I get here...? And why did I have to taste that..? Let me tell you...

My sound system was on a timer. I usually set it to turn on and start playing at 5 am. This helps me wake up on time.... Some days I stay up overnight...(I know it's crazy 😉). But yesterday, I woke up a little earlier than that and I played that song on repeat. I'll talk about the meaning of that song someday in the future. But the vibes it was giving was just so real that morning.

Share my morning adventure

Most of my clothes no longer fit me..., looks like I have added some weight and I need to visit the gym 😀.

I went out to buy some fabric yesterday morning to give to my tailor to sew.

I'm not a flashy guy who likes excessive fashion, but I like getting quality clothes that will last me a very long time, it could be expensive though, but what I am really interested is the durability and quality.

While I was there, I saw my textile vendor eating a strange fruit.

It had some hairy things on its skin. I asked her what it was called, but she said she didn't know the English name.

However, in my local language, it's called 'Mfid nsen.' I was curious to taste it, so she gave me some. And I tried it. It was sweet

I tried searching for the name using Google Image Search. Unfortunately, I got a bit confused because I saw many fruits that looked similar, but their leaves didn't match the fruit I was searching for, so I couldn't find it.

Are there any pomologists or botanists on this blog...? Maybe you can help identify this fruit.

I learnt it helps in heart cleansing. Well, that's not scientifically proven..., but traditionally, people use it for that. I also heard it works.

I hope to get more details about this fruit soon.

Returning home, I met these guys below 😀. This is part of the culture & tradition in Africa. In my local language we call it "ekeong". This is a masquerade.

I think they were also have some good time yesterday 😀.

Feel free to mention the name of this fruit below...

Sir, I tried to know about this success using AI they gave me this result. The fruit shown in this picture is probably known as "Latcon" or "Latcong" (scientific name: Baccaurea motleyana). It is a small round fruit commonly found in Southeast Asia.

Advantages:

  1. Vitamins and Minerals: Latcon is rich in vitamin C, calcium and iron which boosts the body's immune system and helps maintain bone health. Helps to cure various types of cancer and heart disease.

Thanks for the search. Unfortunately, that's not the fruit..., the leaf there isn't the same with the one on the fruit I showed..., though the fruits almoat look alike.

Hey brother, the truth is that you are quite chubby, you need a gym and work for your tailor 🤭 but nothing that can't be remedied.

I know right 😀. I'll sure visit the gym soon. Just that I have a very busy schedule everyday.., but I'll make out time atleast very early each morning.

And yeah, as for fruits, they are much. Some I don't know the name.

The internet failed me this time as I couldn't find the name of this one. I hope someone finds out soon.

Sincerely speaking I got lost looking at the fruit and trying to guess the name. I have never seen such fruit in my life.

Now I also find myself searching the net to get the name too, so funny. I will take a picture and ask around too.

I guess the fruit taste nice from your facial expression.

Some fruits are strange. I spent countless hours searching for it on net, I couldn't find it. I saw other fruits that looks alike. But the leaves were not the same.
