Is it worth it?

I'm so, so angry this morning!😈
As a matter of fact, I'm furious.
All these stress for what? #19, 800 naira only! Even the bank will still take out card maintenance fees and you are left with #19, 750....mtschw.

Before you start reminding me I sang "under the sun or in the rain", I know I sang it.

Let me break down why I'm angry, my Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) happens to be a Ministry. I work everyday of the week from 8am to 4pm. On my Community Development Service (CDS) days, I sometimes go to the office. On general CDS days, we stand in the sun or under the rain while on a queue to sign CDS attendance form or PV signing.

We are pushed and we push, stepped on and bruised, all for what? #19, 800.
The great show of power by our schedule officers just to sign these forms is sometimes out of the world.

Today, we had to cut grass. It was raining but it didn't stop them. No, packing after it's been cut isn't enough, you have to cut grass under supervison of schedule officers who then decide when they want to release you and sign your form. Some of us have never cut grass, some people like me even have reactions from mere touching a blade of grass (All these I documented before the mandatory service year started).

I've been on this queue for over 30 minutes, pleading just to have my name written even after I cut grass. They even tore some forms just to prove their supremacy to us.

I'm really angry not because of all these, but because some people are somewhere doing nothing but greasing palms and they get preferential treatment. 4 hours that could have been really productive has been wasted.

When will things work properly in this country? I'm boiling in my spirit as I patiently waste more time here trying to get a form that could be signed in less than # 30 seconds signed.

I am @bookoons, reminding you today to Make A Difference!

Play the ghost and get extension. Nah, I can't deal.

So this is how they are doing it?
