For 40 years now Metallica have been Lashing out the action, returning the reaction - definitely here to stay. Whilst no stranger to awards such as their induction to the rock and roll hall of fame their latest award comes int he form of The Polar Music Prize which is musics equivalent to the Nobel Prize.

Metallica's loud, proud and FAST approach has served them well. Pounding out aggression, Turns into obsession, Cannot kill the battery - just one example of Metallica at it's best. James, Lars, Kirk and Rob will receive an award of one million Swedish kronor, about equivalent to $126,000. The band will donate all the money to its own All Within My Hands charity, which aids communities in need with workforce education, food-bank donations and other local services.

2017 was a great year for Metallica and their latest debut album has done extremely well including sold out tours all over the world. I hope to see more great things from them in 2018 and as long as they keep chugging out the tunes - nothing else matters.

sorry about the terrible lyric puns
