Movies are an amazing way to learn and get inspirations. They give you life lessons and at the same time, they make you laugh, cry, feel sentimental, strong and even angry at times. Well, there are a lot more than just 10 movies that teach various aspects of entrepreneurship, but here are the 10 movies listed in random order that you just can’t miss.

1. Nightcrawler

(IMDb: 7.9/10)

Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Lou Bloom, a driven young man desperate for work who discovers the high-speed world of L.A. crime journalism. Finding a group of freelance camera crews who film crashes, fires, murder and other mayhem, Lou muscles into the cut-throat, dangerous realm of nightcrawling - where each police siren wail equals a possible windfall and victims are converted into dollars and cents. Aided by Rene Russo as Nina, a veteran of the blood-sport that is local TV news, Lou blurs the line between observer and participant to become the star of his own story.
It shows how struggle for success is never easy and often, immoral.

2. Joy

(IMDb:6.6/10)

A not widely popular movie, but an amazing story of a woman, played by Jennifer Lawrence, who struggles from her usual daily life to invent a self wringing mop that completely revolutionizes the mop industry and makes her a millionaire in the process. This is a must watch movie for those who want to break free from his or her daily life to become a successful entrepreneur.

3. Steve Jobs

(IMDb : 7.2/10)

Biography of Steve Jobs, that shows how he dropped out of college and co- founded Apple Inc. from the garage of his parents’ home along with his friend Steve Wozniak and made it one of the top tech company. It shows the revolution in personal computer industry after the development of Apple-1 in 1976.

4. Moneyball

(IMDb: 7.6/10)

Brad Pitt acts as a manager of the baseball team Oakland A’s. Faced with the tight budget to compete with richer teams, he recreates his team. Analyzing players through a computer application with the help of a graduate(Jonah Hill), he recruits players who are held as flawed by the baseball world but have game winning potential. Based on a true story of the manager Billy Beane, this is an amazing movie for those who want to challenge a whole system.

5. Pirates of Silicon Valley

(IMDb:7.3/10)

This is a semi-humorous biographical film about the men who made the world of technology what it is today, their struggles during college, the founding of their companies, and the ingenious actions they took to build up the global corporate empires of Apple Computer Corporation and Microsoft Inc and revolutionized the personal computer industry.

6. The Pursuit Of Happyness

(IMDb: 8.0/10)

One of my personal favorite, this movie is based on the true story of Christoper Gardner (Will Smith), who grows from poverty to be one of the best wall street salesperson. Chris, who has the custody of his 5 year old son (Jaden Smith), never gives up on his dreams no matter what obstacles he faces. Not only entrepreneurs, everyone should watch this movie at least once.

7. Jerry Maguire

(IMDb: 7.3/10)

Jerry Maguire tells the story of a slick sports agent Jerry Maguire (Tom Cruise), who writes a heartfelt memo which eventually gets him fired. Desperate to cling into his career, he starts his own management firm with a single customer. This is an amazing movie that teaches about customer relationship, following your dream instead of money and another deep lesson that ‘friends in need are friends indeed’.

8. Office Space

(IMDb: 7.8/10)

Office Space is a comedy movie, not the usual business type but teaches a lot about employee management and office environment. Three company workers hate their job so much that they decide to rebel against their boss. It satirizes everyday life of an average employee, shows how frustrated one can become under the wrong working environment and a greedy boss.

9. Eddie the Eagle

(IMDb: 7.4/10)

eddie.jpg

Another non business movie, but a true inspirational story of Michael Eddie Edwards, a British ski jumper who, in 1988, represented The Great Britain in Olympics. There had been no ski jumper to represent The Great Britain since 1929 until he decides he is the one to do so. Nobody believes in him but with unparalleled self belief, he achieves his dream with the help of a coach(Hugh Jackman) and becomes Eddie “The Eagle”. This true story shows how essential it is to have a passion and self belief even though nobody believes in you.

10. Catch Me If You Can

(IMDb: 8.1/10)

Another true story to learn from. This is a story of a con man- Frank Abagnale Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio) who works as a doctor, lawyer and co-pilot of a major airlines. And this he does before his 18th birthday. He becomes the most successful bank robber in the history of U.S at the age of 17. This is a must watch movie if you want to know how clever and one step ahead of your enemies you must remain if you want to beat them.

Okay, these are not the only movies. There are lot of others that are worth watching because they do give you an essential lesson that you’ll need in the field of entrepreneurship. I have watched every single one of them and I recommend you watch them too.
