Safety rules of a welding workshop.

INTRODUCTION

The safety standards within the different workshops that exist are depending on the work that is carried out in it, this in order to avoid disasters, injuries and deaths of people working in them.
Before starting to work and use the equipment, tools and machinery found in them, it is necessary to follow a series of rules regarding clothing, attitude and accessories to avoid any type of disaster.
In this case the safety rules that we will have next will be that of a welding workshop where you need to be careful with the handling of instruments and work equipment, since these can cause great injuries if used unconsciously or recklessly.

Safety rules for a welding workshop

It is forbidden to smoke and eat inside the facilities.

Do not use radio, recorders and cell phones inside the premises.

Keep all items that are not essential for your work in the Workshop in the lockers located within the Workshop area.

If you use a locker located in the Workshop area, remember to vacate and deliver the key the same day of your request.

You must always bring and use the Individual Protection Elements needed for each job in the Machine Shop, such as: (gloves, masks, masks, goggles, ear covers, breastplates.

Always bring enough materials and supplies to be used for the job, for example: wood, metals, glue, nails, sandpaper, paint, welding, screws, etc.

Plan your work and request the appropriate tool at the times determined for this activity.

HYGIENE AND SECURITY

Review the "Instructions for the use of the equipment" to know what type of protection elements are recommended for the equipment to be used.
Individual protection elements (EPI).

Respiratory Protector:
Masks and respirators: Wear the appropriate respiratory protection when you come in contact with particles that are suspended in the air such as sawdust, dust, paint or gases.

Visual Protectors:
Transparent protective glasses and for oxyacetylene welding.

Face shield:
Transparent masks, welding masks: Use visual or facial protectors when working, handle corrosive, flammable liquids, melted metals, when there is a risk that particles may jump into the eyes, or when carrying out welding operations.

Manual Protector:
Gloves: Wear appropriate gloves when handling hot materials or that present a risk of cutting.

Auditory protector:
Cap-type and cup-type protectors: Use hearing protectors when entering a noisy environment or when handling equipment that generates too much noise.

Try to have your own equipment of individual protection elements.

CONCLUSION
These standards and safety equipment were made in order to avoid any type of disasters that may affect the worker or the observers.
With the constant updating and development of new work equipment, this may not be as important, but as long as the hand of a human being is involved in them, every effort will be made to conserve the worker's health, well-being and prevent deaths while performing the job.
