Wanderlust: Have your beach therapy and vitamin sea!

As cliche as it sounds,the ocean stirs the heart, inspire the imagination and brings eternal joy to the soul. Beach can be a leisure, an escape and even a therapy.

Walking along the sandy shores, dipping your toes in the water and watching the sun sink into the ocean might actually be good for your physical and mental well-being. Having a day in a beach has great deals of advantages. Here are the few of the best reason to visit the beach this summer.

  • Sunshine is a great source of vitamin.  Soaking up that sun is actually necessary for our bodies to function. Sunlight is rich in vitamin D. Beach happens to be a very sunny place especially during summer days.


  • Workout in the waves and on the sand.  Beach sports are typically dominated by volleyball, and that’s normally enough for the average beach goer to get by on.  All that swimming, walking, and running you’ll be doing at the beach is great exercise. You can stay healthy, get fit, or even lose weight at the beach.  


  • Exfoliate your skin.  Did you know the ocean is full of anti-aging minerals that can counter the decline of your skin’s elasticity and sand acts as a natural skin exfoliating substance? These help peel off dead skin cells from your feet and anywhere else to reveal a wonderful glow. If you go to the beach, it's like going to an all-natural spa day! 


  • Turning strangers into friends. If you’re going to the beach to participate in activities, sit at the bar, or socialize, you’re going to meet people. The beach can be a great place to intermingle and have loads of fun with strangers, especially if you visit some of the more popular locales. They can even be your good friend or special someone.


  • Technology detox. In today’s society, we are always on some type of electronic device. It turns out that cell phones and laptops don’t mix well with water or sand. The beach is a great place to take a break from the screens, which helps in clearing that mental clutter.


  • Reconnect with yourself and your spirit. Whether or not you’re a spiritual person, there’s something about being by the ocean that puts you into a meditative state. The vastness of the sea, expansive horizon and beautiful surroundings make you truly appreciate nature, and you’ll leave feeling more at peace.
