Ethereum Madness

in #life8 years ago (edited)

I have been observing chat on Poloniex regarding Ethereum price movements related to hard fork and what have stunned me is that so many people don't even think about it as amazing technology with really brilliant idea backing it.

Some of those people see it as a plain scam scheme where Ethereum creators do what they do just to profit from speculation. Rest of them thinks only that ETH is just a coin that can be bought or sold.

Why is that?
Concepts behind Ethereum are really innovative and I dare to say ground-breaking in shaping future of the world. Blockchain idea itself was very fruitful and changed the landscape for common users, what Ethereum does is the very next step that may bring even more substantial changes.

I have been thinking about "virtual countries" since long time ago, but wasn't creative enough to invent something that could bring it to life, Ethereum did it. I'm in awe of this and can't really understand why people don't see it.
Maybe someone explains it to me?

In case you haven't heard of it, BitNation is the first real attempt to build virtual state. I also believe that geographical borders are really existing only in people's heads (mainly because countries do everything in their power to maintain this illusion). Let's make new world where ancient ideas that are no longer needed just die.
