Free internet, today and forever

The Internet is an ecosystem. It is a living entity on which millions of people depend to acquire knowledge, as an economic support, a channel of expression, and to maintain contact with their families. Your health depends on everything you touch. As long as its users contribute positive elements, we will all benefit. Many of its benefits come from being an open system: it is free for anyone to add and learn from anywhere. The Internet gets stronger with every new person who uses it.

Right now, there are more internet users in emerging economies than in developed economies, which generates greater diversity and positive growth. It becomes a way of possible solutions to work problems together with the range of existing digital tools. It allows some jobs to be done remotely, that the information reaches many people in a simple way, gives us the possibility to stop using large document file cabinets in offices and start taking advantage of cloud storage, for example. The possibilities are many and their use only increases them.

Everyone deserves the opportunity for equal access to the Internet and the opportunity to use it to improve their living conditions. Universal access to the Internet in less developed countries by 2020 is one of the new Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

Every day, the Internet is becoming more relevant to our lives and a window to the development of our rights. That is why we need to commit ourselves to keeping it free, neutral and at our disposal.
