Actual US Murder Rate 5X Higher than Mexico!
In the USA the people thrive on stories that tell us we are better, safer, freer and have more justice. Because none of those things are true! While US media goes crazy over the violence problem in Mexico that is largely driven by a US government-funded drug war.
Cities across the USA are riddled with violence both public and private. From the 7 people murder in one day and in one neighborhood in Chicago to the out of control police abuse and judicial corruption that has made our Constitution little more than fire starter.
Offcialy tallied rates USA vs Mexico.
- USA: 205 Murders per 100,000
- Mexico: 39 Murders per 100,000
There's truth in Mexico's violence problem. It's just that the USA far worse. What they won't tell you is that in Mexico took off at the start of the US-backed drug war (yes the US pays Mexico billions to take part in it). What about other violence?
KIDNAPPING: USA is officially around 210 per 100K population per year (US Dept of Justice Reports). In Mexico, the highest non-government estimates fall at around 83 per 100k (INEGI reports). — That means in the USA you're 2X more likely to disappear than in Mexico.
RAPE. In the US you're 2X more likely to be raped than in Mexico. (See UN rape reports).
The SUICIDE RATE: 3X higher in the USA than in Mexico. (Source US CDC and MX INEGI)
IMPRISONMENT rates are about 4X higher in the USA. Also, Mexico has no death penalty and life without parole is illegal. (See global prison rates and MX legal code).
POLICE VIOLENCE: In the USA police openly murder more than 1000 per year and hospitalize around 50,000 more. You will find few cases of the kind of public abuses in Mexico. Corruption certainly exists, but the open disrespect and abuse from police are not tolerated in Mexcian culture. You will see a police officer even touch his gun here. When police shoot civilians in US fashion, cops are usually charged with murder.
PRISON RATE: The USA is about 4 times that of Mexico per capita. So please stop telling people that the USA is safe or free.
The people in Mexico have more personal and economic freedom, less violence and in general a higher quality of life (not necessarily more money). The deniers will be on here in no time do diffuse, excuse and deny. But the numbers don't lie. We can choose to live as a slave to your bias, or we can choose to live free and resist #BlueISIS

In reality, America is the dumbest, most enslaved country in the world. It is very sad. The fact that we have more people in prison then ALL other countries in the world combined!? And yet we are suppose to be a free country!? This is why America is the laughing stock of the entire world. Prison labor, re-legalized slavery! Which is why I went stateless. I refuse to participate in this lawless criminal police state.

Excellent point, Gavin, that the size of one's income does not always equate to quality of life. I would add happiness. In fact, among those who I know personally the correlation is inverse. There is corruption in some form pretty much everywhere, but in the US you're somehow an ungrateful bigot deserving of punishment for exercising the freedoms some of us thought were the founding principles of our nation. And the people are largely self-policing in this regard, which is very disturbing.
The average person's robotic response to any suggestion of travel to mexico is that "you' d better not go outside the tourist areas, because there's GANGS out there!" Yet I know someone who's been caught in the midst of a gang-related gunbattle TWICE (on seperate occasions) in east PDX on his way from lightrail to the gd community college! A liberal, 'progressive' city, go figure. Oh and there is literally a villiage of homeless people that stretches for MILES down springwater corridor, and the price of living continues to explode.
I have always said that this freedom of use of arms in that country is a great problem for themselves. that rate will rise every day more, between the psychiatric problems and the ease of carrying weapons, they will end up with their own citizenship ... some day the congress will have to see it that way and take measures
In reality, the USA has fewer gun rights than Mexico.
