Planting The Rice Field

in #japan6 years ago

This a small tanbo (rice field) near my house. I love it when the farmer plant's his crop. It's always refreshing to walk by it because the temperature drops when you are next to it. Add to that the vivd green colors of the rice plants are striking compared to all the man made monotones surrounding them. One last hold out against progress.

The farmer lives a few houses away and has quite a bit of property, despite everything around his land being developed. He is an older gentleman and since I have never seen anyone other than him out and about it makes me wonder what will happen to this property when he is gone? When he is gone the memory of his tanbo will live on through Japan In Pictures.
