Why I'm on steemit

I really had no idea what the value of bitcoin or any of these cryptocurrencies were based on until a few days ago. I still am not sure what prompted my initial interest, maybe it was bitcoin's recent huge drop. After doing a fair amount of research I stumbled upon steemit; I was fascinated that someone had developed a platform based on creative content and really liked the model and ability of regular people to partake.
