My Introduction of myself and my Passion

My introduction

Hello, Steemit! My name is Emmitt, and I heard about Steemit from Wally Canis a Jewish gentleman that comes to our facility and volunteers to teach the residents technology. I do not think that he is a member of Steemit, but his daughter Corey @sykochica is. Although I still do not understand the platform completely, I believe that it may be beneficial for my new project. I am introducing myself and posting my first article to introduce myself and my project formally. The following will give you an idea of how we will be involved in this humanitarian effort going forward. Mercy said Yes is a new project, and many of the components of delivering our message are still in the construction mode. Look for more of these elements coming forth soon.

Mercy said Yes

MISSION STATEMENT

Focusing on inequalities that exist in the world today and offering opportunities for concerned merciful people to help correct and heal the damages. Provide opportunities for understanding these inequities through podcasting, social media, and editorial articles. Provide a website database that will provide opportunities for performing kind deeds to counteract these discriminatory practices. We also plan to add to our site a database of humanitarian organizations that are available to meet specific needs.

As American citizens, we will identify and provide information that will allow our readers to see documented history in the United States and abroad, regarding these discriminatory practices beginning with the founding of our nation through this present day. We start with several questions and several examples of documentation to give insight into the answers.

In this article, we will endeavor to provide insight into the following.

White Nationalism

The Black American Experience

Implicit Bias

anti-Semitism

Question: What Is the Most Significant Fact That Has Caused Our Nation to be divided since its inception? As we look more broadly at this problem, we recognize that similar conditions exists in other countries as well.

Answer: White Nationalism. What is it and is it confined to the United States or is it worldwide? We will attempt to respond to some of these questions in this article and in future articles which will be  posted on our website and ongoing Blogs. We witnessed a very similar situation playing out in Europe in the French election which took place on Sunday, May 7, 2017.

Listen to the testimony of a former white nationalist

We began here because we believe that there is much ignorance about this particular issue that has plagued our nation since its founding. Ignorance by people who do not fully understand and by people who know but use it as a weapon. Documentation and historical facts provide proof for making informed decisions based on TRUTH. To make changes according to the truths revealed through studies of human behaviors, we must be intentional and open-minded according to what we know to be the right thing to do.

Next Question: How should we continue this enlightening journey? Americans of African descent have been vital to the American story since the beginning, and the contribution of the first 12 generations of Americans of African descent between 1607 and 1865 is the essential factor in the United States of America becoming the most successful nation in modern history. Visit unpaid labor.com for the UNTOLD story. Follow Mercy said Yes as we unpack this untold story through many reputable Historians on our many future platforms.

Next Question: What Is Implicit Bias? Read an article from the New York Times, Hyphen-Nation plus What Biracial people know. A small but growing body of research suggests that multiracial people are more open-minded and creative.

Next Question: After viewing the articles, documentation, and studies regarding the genetic conditions throughout our history, it appears a matter that begs an answer is. Where are we on these issues? The two following articles may help us to face some realities and respond to questions that we may have. Only White People Said the Little Girl. Are We Raising Racist?

Next Question: What would Jesus tell House Speaker Paul Ryan about looking after the sick and the needy? See column by Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times. And Jesus said unto Paul of Ryan. The recently passed healthcare bill in the House of Representatives that contains Measures on Pre-Existing Conditions was immediately opposed by over 100,000 people on twitter.

A new Podcast is planned to focus on the divisions that we are encountering in the world today, (and throughout the history of the world) and explore ways to counteract these divisions. The Mercy Said Yes podcast will interview and pass along information from historians and other reliable sources for further proofs of these facts.

The purpose of the podcast is to understand why we are a divided world. Merciful people can counteract this trend by intentionally committing to showing mercy throughout the world without discrimination. These kind acts can range from a simple acknowledgment of all people's equality in the eyes of the creator of all humanity to any other philanthropic endeavor. It is well-known that evil does exist, but it is not what God has created us to be. For He (God) has said, the merciful shall receive mercy. As we look around at the way things are today, we can see that all things are not equal and if God has gifted us with an abundance of wealth, talents or skills and compassion, there are always opportunities to use those gifts to show mercy. This endeavor and its affiliates are entirely unbiased against all noble causes, but we do not take sides nor comment on reasons that are clearly unrighteous. We will purposely refrain from voicing an opinion about issues that we do not condone personally. We are not a political or a religious organization, our mission is simply to provide opportunities for humanity to share with those who have need of their mercy. Our website will contain links to many subjects of diversity, as well as opportunities to connect with other organizations or individuals (through our site and social networks) to exercise your compassion for others.

Our Christianity does not identify with a political ideology or party. Down through the centuries, people have taking something sacred and turned it into a blunt political weapon. We will endeavor to see public matters, and indeed all of life through a theological lens; because I believe God's word gives insight into the human condition. We recognize that a significant percentage of people are not Christian and, therefore, cannot be expected to live Christian lives. As Christian's we do not have the authority nor the right to represent prudential judgment as required by Christianity; no political party can come close to approximating God's ideal. Our Christianity is separate from the goals of this podcast or any other endeavor related to it including the website. Followers of Jesus are not living faithfully in a broken world, perhaps because we are looking inward instead of upward. Aim at heaven, and you will get earth thrown in, aim at earth and you will get neither. We only have to look back over history to see that Christianity has been twisted and used as a weapon for personal greed and power. Sometimes this was done in ignorance, but sometimes it was done for personal greed and dominance. Read the New York Times article, A Conversation on race. Visit the unpaid labor website for facts regarding the first 12 generations of African Americans descent, as the reason that America became the most successful nation in modern history. As we look back into history, we can see the truth played out through greed, implicit bias, superiority complexes, hatred and other human failures. Looking back over the history of this country and indeed the world, we can see that Christianity and politics taken together cannot solve the world's problems. History also records that in the world there is good and evil. Our goal is to encourage those who consider themselves as good, (and many good people in the world are not Christian) who can positively make a conscious effort to do good as a counterbalance to evil. Do unto others as you would have them to do unto you. Identify your good characteristics and capabilities and use them to show mercy to someone who can use the help that you can provide. Just look back at the history of the United States and be honest and judge for yourself. For anyone who believes in the truth of Christianity and still believe in the ideal of politics, these last several decades and the last 15 months, in particular, have often been painful. Like water that refracts light and changes the shape of things, politics can distort and invert Christianity, turning a faith that at its course is about grace, reconciliation, and redemption into one that is characterized by bitterness, resulting in a lack of charity. There is a good deal of hating and dehumanization going on in the name of Christ.

In 2015 in particular, we can see that our nation and I would say even the world separated between good and evil.

GIVEN THESE REALITIES YOU MAY BE ASKING WHAT YOU CAN DO?

1. Get involved: Here are some examples of things that can make a difference to counteract the hatred and bitterness exposed to our nation. Many people were likely surprised at what they saw, and now realize that our society is divided, and we who recognize that indeed all men, women boys and girls are created equal, but many times do not receive equal treatment will be moved to respond positively.

2. Read the vast wealth of information from reputable sources on our website that we are compiling so that the reader may be knowledgeable of our record as a nation for the past 250+ years. This information will be from reputable sources such as Historians, Documentaries, Books and reliable News Media.

3. Join our Facebook community conversation, where you will have the opportunity to offer your suggestions and find opportunities that may be suitable for you to participate. Join in the conversation and invite your friends to join in. There will also be opportunities to join causes in our database and submit your ideas.

Anyone who has a heart and desire to make a difference at the margins can do so at whatever level they are by making pledges such as not acquiescing to injustice but vowing to stand on the side of righteousness. Seize opportunities to take action when you encounter injustice. In this article, we will give examples of activities that are consistent with our Constitution that will be good for America and the world as a whole. Such as calling or writing to your members of Congress and express your opposition to anti-Semitism, (anti-Semitic talk in the United States has reached levels unseen since the 1930s. And there have been bomb threats against Jewish centers across the country). Social media filled with anti-Semitism in 2016: David Leonard an op-Ed columnist wrote an article in the New York Times February 23, 2017, anti-American The New American Anti-Semitism.

A journalist who said they had never been subject to bigotry before came to expect it, usually from top supporters. Schools and synagogues have been defiled with anti-Semitism. More recently, Jewish community centers have received bomb threats and Jewish cemeteries desecrated in cities in our nation; mass deportation that disrupted the lives of many thousands of people, cutting millions of people off health care, other racial and discriminatory Injustices in many forms. Attend your representative's meetings and put him or her on the spot. Everyone can do something, it may be small, but many people working for good will make a change. Sign up on the Council of American-Islamic Relations website, volunteer to fight Islamophobia. Call a local mosque to offer support, or join an interfaith event. Sign up for a neighborhood list of needs if one exists for your area. Be an escort for anyone who is now in fear. Remind yourself that no side has a monopoly on truth and many good people want the best for the country and the world. Do your part to support the society that you would like to see. Support and patronize businesses who are willing to hire refugees. Give blood and register for organ donation. Support groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center that fight hate groups. Support refugees through donations to the New York Times Neediest case fund. Don't let it slide if a friend makes degrading comments about an Immigrant, Minority or a Woman, even if it's over Thanksgiving dinner. Push back and say something like: come on! You think that?  Provide shelter for a refugee or an immigrant and help them to establish their residence if you have the means. Intervene to prevent a sexual predator from assaulting a partygoer. Do what you can to make sure that the needy aren't forgotten. Support Reach out and learn to read, an outstanding program that helps at-risk kids learn to read. Be a big brother or big sister, mentoring children. Progress may unfold at the state or local level, engage there. Take on sexism and misogyny, such as sexual assault and sex trafficking of girls across the country and world. Advocate to get funding for women's shelters or to prosecute pimps. Do not lose hope, remember that politics zigzags and that you can do more than shout in the wind. Fight for your values even between elections, and even at the micro level try to mitigate the damage to your neighbors and attempt to heal a social fabric that has been rent.
