appleskins - Introduction

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hi, I'm V and I am 31 years old.

I just wanted to get that out of the way because if I didn't say it, I bet you would guess I was under 14 by what I'm about to post. The truth is, I just know who I am, what I like, and often use language that a child would to describe myself when I write awkward things like "introduction posts."

I am a weird, empathetic, fat, silly, anxious, loud, foodie who is plant-based & gluten-free. I watch too much YouTube and have too many favourite animals (tigers, bats, chameleons, rats, goats, cats, and frogs). I like partly cloudy days, warm pizza, dancing all night, camping under the stars, and making people feel comfortable with me (just as much as I like making people think, might I add).

Me, at my v best

When I am having a conversation with someone, I have been told time and time again that they feel I am right there with them and that's something I really strive for. I am friendly when I'm out and about in the world and because of that strangers give me a lot of compliments, start many deep conversations with me, and even give me money sometimes (no, really). I feel things too deeply so being open can be bad sometimes, but I just want people to know that they matter. I want people to have someone look them in the eye and really hear them, you know? Okay, I'm expanding on that too much.

I am an adult student attending a local community college and I am loving marketing, travel writing, ethics, and culture. My course load has taught me that I value diversity and inclusivity. My goals once I graduate are to work for a nonprofit that aligns with my values and to be in a position I can stretch my creative "wings" in.

I reference pop culture (lately it has been Vines - RIP Vine) an obscene amount and long for a group of like-minded people who would get those references.

I am all for equity, effectiveness, and efficiency... though you wouldn't know that by this post.

It's just hard to talk about yourself, you know? Especially in a linear, one-dimensional way because it's just not how humans are.

So, here I am. This is me.

I have no set plan or goal for this blog. I will resteem more often than anything else as I have a lot of family-in-law and a husband (@thebrassdoor) who frequent this site. I will post YouTube videos from my channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/appleskins - if you would like to subscribe I would love to have you) on here and maybe some of my projects from school. Not very defined I know, but if you want to join me on my steemit journey, I would appreciate the company!

Take care of yourself and then, if you have the time and the energy, take care of someone else a little bit too!

That picture from the corn field is amazing - welcome here :)

Welcome to steemit nice introduction very well said @appleskins. I'm looking forward to your next content and hope to see you around. =)

Hi @appleskins welcome to steemit it's great to have you here enjoy the platform and explore the community

Hey V! Welcome to steemit, lady! Ah don't resteem more than you write ;-) you're a great writer and I'd love to hear more about your life. Sounds like your a fantastic listener too. Would love to hear more about how people approach you, or is it just friends etc?

Thanks for the engaging comment! The compliments are nice too! I am not quite sure, to be honest. It comes so naturally to me I don't even think about it. It's with almost everyone I meet, 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time (usually when I am out of energy, feeling ill, and hungry at the same time), I wish no one would even look at me! Every interaction is different but a few things remain the same. Number one, I never physically touch someone ever. If they needed help, I would ask if I could, but aside from that I never do. Number two, I always make sure to read whether or not they are feeling a conversation or not. If not, I disengage with not even a scoff. Number three, I do not approach or engage if I am not feeling it because that would be a lie and people's unconscious mind can smell it. Number four, if I am feeling tired, scared, hurt, annoyed, hyper, or whichever feelings that can be seen as negative I let them know as I am speaking to them. I am honest and forthcoming as much as possible.

Again, thank you for such a meaty comment! Usually, you just get the bare bones on these types of posts so I appreciate it!

Interesting to hear your approach :-) I think it is definitely about assessing whether someone is ready to speak and also being as open as possible with your feelings. Great to hear and thanks for getting back to me :-)

Congrats on finally making your introduction post. The first step to getting addicted to crypto currency.

I noticed you didn't on this post but just remember NOT to select 'power up 100%' when you make a post. It pays way more to take the 50/50 payout than what it says you'll make right now.

Welcome and join in Steemit hope you enjoy it.
Show all your imagination 😎 😎
I am sure success will come in the future for all of us 👍👍

Hello V welcome to steemit. Wow! You were quite open with this introduction. Its cool though. I do hope you would post frequently. A small tip, you could use your YouTube channel to promote steemit, and still blog about it. I'd be looking forward to seeing your posts. Welcome once again.

Thanks for noticing, haha! Thank you for the warm welcome as well!
