Homesteaders - Living Naturally, Newsletter. 19th February 2020

With the sale of Steemit to TRON's @JustinSunSteemit, there's lots of chatter happening. I'm glad to see it's not put people off posting as usual, though, and we have lots of great content as for you again this week.

Things happening in the community.

There is nearly a week to go if you still want to get entries in for the current @naturalmedicine challenge. Choose any natural medicine/healing topic you want and the aim is to encourage you to make it stand out, because they want to showcase it to the community and beyond!

@minismallholding and @mattclarke are on the lookout for 4 accounts to delegate 200 SP for a month to. You'd think it would be easy, but some months it's really not that easy to find active users who could make the use of a little leg up to help them along with building their account. So this is a call out for help to find those accounts.

Some highlights of the week

Don't you just hate thinning seedlings! It's always so hard to take out what might one day be a delicious food source, but sometimes it has to be done. Yet sometimes it doesn't have to be done after all! @solarshutdown explains which seedlings need thinning, when you don't have to and how to thin without disturbing the ones you want to keep.

Breeding any animal has its ups and downs, but some have higher risk rates than others. As @coffeedrinker112 explains, when things don't go smoothly with rabbits, the likelihood of hand rearing the kittens is low.

We've lost a lot of skills that would have been commonplace at one point and knife sharpening by hand is probably something few of us can now do. @freedompoint walks us through this skill in an easy to understand step by step approach.

Homeopathy often comes under scientific scrutiny and is regularly seen as a quack medicine, but what really is the low down on it? @bia.birch presents a well researched article on this type of medicine, its history and recorded effectiveness.
