The Diarygame || Travel Diary: The Puddle Shipping Company, Milan | Sunday, September 15
Today, I want to share a fun and unexpected experience I had while walking through Brera, one of Milan's most renowned art districts.
During my stroll, I stumbled upon a fascinating little installation called the "Puddle Shipping Company". Tiny, colorful paper boats were floating on a puddle as if it were a miniature lake! I immediately felt intrigued and moved closer to admire this quirky scene.
I soon met the mind behind this creation, Carmelo La Gaipa, an artist and designer with an incredible passion for turning the everyday into something magical. He explained that this installation is part of his concept of "ludic minimalism", which encourages people to find joy in simplicity and playfulness in the mundane. “Why shouldn’t a puddle be a sea for little boats?” he asked with a smile.
Carmelo's artwork has not gone unnoticed. At the Salone del Mobile, his installation was awarded as one of the most innovative. Using papier-mâché and recycled materials, he has transformed an ordinary puddle into a whimsical body of water, turning the streets into a stage for creativity. His art invites us to see the world with fresh eyes and reminds us that beauty can be found in the smallest things.

Funny. If little children do this it's not called art but it is if an adult does the same. He's lucky it's seen as art otherwise he would be ignored. Would I travel whole the way to see this myself? The answer is no. You already showed it and I wouldn't know what more I should do over there, wherever it is since you didn't tell. You stroll a lot, if you have a map or something else to show you can tag me.
