Celebrating Independence Day

August is the month of celebrating independence, the month of showing patriotism, the month of remembering all the prestigious sacrifices, the month of showing enthusiasm, courage, and love for Pakistan. This August, we had a week-long "Independence Week" at our university, and we all took part in each and every event.

The celebrations kicked off with a flag-hoisting and cake-cutting ceremony—indeed, that creamy cake was worth every minute of the wait! The festivities continued with engaging quiz competitions, spirited parliamentary debates, and a patriotic beats competition, each event brimming with knowledge, enthusiasm, and joy.

Although August 14th was an official holiday across the country, our university arranged a fundraising food gala. We all batchmates wore green and white, face-painted one another, gifted badges to each other, and clicked a lot of pictures. There were numerous student-run stalls, selling badges, flags, bangles, handmade embroideries, food items, and games. We visited them and enjoyed yummy khowsey and dumplings! Freedom calls for free food! (Credit goes to my friends).
