Hello Steem Pet Lovers!
Please meet our first Special Friday Edition for you.
Here we will post interesting and useful information about pets and other animals.
And today I would like to talk about birds of prey in trouble.

The most common problem you may encounter with birds of prey is auto-injury. In the cold season, they hunt for small rodents along the route. I want to draw your attention right away: this is not your fault! A healthy bird will never collide with a car. If this happened, then the bird was already unhealthy. In addition, it is quite difficult to see a dark-colored bird at night.

How to help?

  1. Take thick gloves! You don't have them? Take a jacket (you will wash it later). Even a wounded bird of prey will defend itself against you and can seriously injure you with its claws or beak.

3.jpg

  1. If you have a cardboard box, perfect. If not, they will help you at any gas station or in a store, just ask. The box should not be too big or too small. Little more than the bird itself. Don't forget to make air holes!

  2. Do not try to feed or water the bird! You will only make it worse. The digestive system does not work normally during an injury, and water in the case of a traumatic brain injury can cause brain swelling. If you can get a bird to drink at all and it won't choke! (usually birds of prey get the moisture they need from their food, they don't drink like we do).

  1. If the bird has a broken wing or leg, evaluate your skills correctly. If you are sure that you know how to fix a broken limb - do it. Remember to protect your hands from sharp claws and beak! If you are not confident in your skills, then it is better not to do anything.

  2. Get the bird to the vet as soon as possible!

We wish you a great day and good mood
