Steem greetings @everyone from the motherland-Cameroon and welcome to my blog as I present my 21st report as the Steem Representative. This report spans from the 11th of September to the 18th of September 2024.

It is yet another week of work with heads high while trying to scale a balance. It has not been easy at my side with numerous homework tasks for my kids to catch up for the 2 weeks imposed lockdown by separatist fighters in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon. We are currently observing the second week of the lockdown to prevent school resumption in this part of the country. We hope to resume next week.

That said, below I will be talking about the different activities carried out across the platform within the above-stated period of time.

Steemit Promotion.

Facebook is one of the platforms I used to promote steemit but unfortunately, there are lots of scammers on Facebook. It makes it difficult to gain the trust of my Facebook followers to sign up because they believe anything that has to do with cryptocurrency is fake. Most of them I approached were once victims of cryptocurrency scams on Facebook.

I could not do the face-to-face promotion due to the imposed lockdown. However, I continued talking about Steemit with my neighbours and will continue talking about the different aspects and benefits of Steemit to them. I shared my experience with them and what motivated me to join Steemit during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sharing my story with them was a means to motivate them to see reasons to join Steemit. I assured them that I would guide them on their journey on Steemit if in case they made a decision to join.

I equally use the old strategy of promoting Steemit via my WhatsApp status. Notwithstanding, the often-asked question by almost all new users I approached still resurfaces “…Are votes guaranteed because I cannot waste my time on something that will not bring money”. I responded that Steemit is not a get-rich-quick scheme but they should think that they spent time and data chatting and watching videos on other platforms and gained nothing. They should channel that energy on Steemit and in the long run, will benefit.

Activities in Steem Cameroon Community.

I monitored the two winners of the contest engagement challenge 4 newcomers every day. They are not actively using the delegated SP. For the second week, they did not still take my warnings seriously. They were inactive and one practising self-upvoting. The other winner for three days and counting has not cast a single upvote and the account idling at 100%. I had to undelegate because it was a waste meanwhile I would have used it to support other users.

It is a routine that every week we meet online and discuss how to better manage the community. We discussed bringing onboard new weekly contest ideas. We continued to discuss the inactiveness of one of the admins @saxopedia who always promised to be active fully but do not keep to his promise. He complained of offline commitments and at this point, we do not know what to do for him to be back fully.

I followed up with some newcomers and guide them via Discord. I tried to encourage inactive newbies to stay committed to Steemit and engage meaningfully to build an audience for their content.

As a plagiarism leader and actively fighting all forms of abuse on the community, I had to ensure that content creators create quality content free from any form of abuse on steemit. No abuses of content was recorded. We hope steemians continues to be creative in ideas and create plagiarized free content and proper use of non-copyrighted images.

I also caution steemians about phishing links and using 3rd party DApps. This is because they risk losing their Steemit accounts to hackers. I also informed them about “account recovery” within 30 days if not they stand to lose the account to hackers.

Content Creation.

I was committed to creating content on the platform across different communities and also on my blog. Throughout the week, I created 6 articles including 3 engagement challenges, 2 lifestyle content and my weekly feedback on Steemit though not captured on the image.

Support Other Content Creators with @chant Account.

I used my effective Steem power of over 45k to support steemians with quality content on the platform. I did power up some liquid Steem to increase my steem power and supported other content creators for their hard work on the platform.

Preference was given to authors writing creative and quality articles across the platform. Over the week, I reached out to 89 accounts and upvoted 127 posts with a CSI score of 15.4.

At this juncture, I have come to the end of my presentation of my weekly activities.

Regards!
