Evening On the Beach

Even though the beach is so close to our house, we barely get a chance to go there. Last Sunday, we got the chance to go to the beach with our nephew. Harith's sister, her baby, brother, and we went to the nearby Balapitiya beach.

The waves were a bit strong that day. I had no plans to get into the water, but Harith and his brother did. I sat with our nephew on the shore and helped her play with the sand. She was actually a bit scared of the beach that day. She mostly cried and wanted her mother to stay with her.

There were a few sea creatures on the beach, including crabs and some other species whose names I don’t know.

There was also a good collection of seashells on the shore, so we picked a few for our nephew.

We made a few sand sculptures using molds and also buried Harith in the sand. It was quite a good hour, actually.

After spending quality time under the sea breeze, we came back home.
