Synopsis

In a town on the banks of the Mississippi River lives Tom Sawyer, a mischievous boy, an expert in breaking the rules and sneaking out of school to embark on the most dangerous and crazy adventures. Despite living in 1850, in the southern United States, at a time marked by slavery and on the verge of an imminent war, Tom Sawyer breathes freedom and imagination. En una población a orillas del río Mississippi vive Tom Sawyer, un muchacho travieso, experto en saltarse las normas y escabullirse de la escuela para embarcarse en las aventuras más peligrosas y disparatadas. A pesar de vivir en 1850, en el sur de Estados Unidos, en una época marcada por la esclavitud y a las puertas de una guerra inminente, Tom Sawyer respira libertad e imaginación. Siempre al margen del mundo de los adultos, Tom se divierte de mil formas diferentes; jugando en el bosque, navegando en un barco pirata y buscando tesoros, pescando en el río o nadando, y comiendo manzanas como si fueran el dulce más preciado. Comenzamos con nuestro protagonista haciendo de las suyas, escapándose de casa para ir a nadar recibiendo un castigo casi de inmediato, pintar la valla de la casa, evade su castigo haciéndole creer a varios niños que pintar dicha valla es un privilegio y a cambio estos pequeños le deberán cambiar pequeños “tesoros” por poder realizar su trabajo, desde un principio nos muestran los astuto y persuasivo que el niño puede llegar a ser.

Throughout the book we are shown in all the problems that Tom is involved in, always accompanied by his best friend Huckleberry Finn, from innocent antics, going to his own funeral to witnessing a murder. For Tom's young age he knew how to get out of trouble quickly, his sense of loyalty is one of the things that can move you the most in the book.

A lo largo del libro nos muestran en todos los problemas en lo que Tom se ve involucrado, siempre acompañado de su mejor amigo Huckleberry Finn, desde travesuras inocentes, pasar a ir su propio funeral hasta ser testigo de un asesinato. Para la corta edad de Tom sabia zafarse de los problemas rápidamente, su sentido de la lealtad es una de las cosas que más te pueden a llegar a conmover en el libro.

The vast majority of the characters are quite memorable, like Aunt Polly, Tom's friends Huckleberry Finn and Joe Harper, little Becky who is our protagonist's romantic interest and is certainly one of my favorite literary relationships, shows innocence and the pure love that a child can feel for the other, Tom's brother, Sid, who although he did not have as much participation has several memorable dialogues

La gran mayoría de los personajes son bastante memorables, como la Tia Polly, los amigos de Tom, Huckleberry Finn y Joe Harper, la pequeña Becky que es el interés romántico de nuestro protagonista y ciertamente es una de mis relaciones favoritas literarias, muestra la inocencia y el amor puro que un niño puede llegar a sentir por el otro, el hermano de Tom, Sid, que si bien no tuvo tanta participación tiene varios diálogos memorables.

El autor nos muestra como era vivir en un pequeño pueblo en Estados Unidos, en siglo XIX donde la discriminación racial y la esclavitud estaban en su apogeo, así como también nos muestra la delgada línea entre la pobreza y las personas con mayores recursos.

The book can become somewhat monotonous since the adventures that do not take long to become problems and go to a solution quickly and is somewhat repetitive, one can be left with several questions, such as why Tom is an orphan and is not with his parents or even a little of the life of your friends

El libro puede a llegar ser algo monótono ya que las aventuras que no se tardan en convertir en problemas y pasan a una solución rápidamente y es algo repetitivo, uno puede quedar con varias interrogantes, como el por qué Tom es huérfano y no está con sus padres o incluso un poco de la vida de sus amigos.

Easy to read, it is aimed at a clearly childish audience, but regardless of your age, it is undoubtedly a book that you have to read and you will surely like it, not for nothing has it become a classic of literature.
