The sky has been pretty much overcast during these past few days and I feel that my blood is coagulating because I had been under my blanket as the temperatures are relatively cooler particularly during the night. My country being in the path of Tropical storms and Typhoons which are equivalent of Hurricane in some parts of the world, we cannot seem to have a break for a much better weather condition.

If the wet weather system comes, it pulls with it the hot and moist Monsoon rains from the southwest and so the land here will experience heavy rains if not having depressed days like these where intermittent downpour of light to moderate rain happens. The ceiling of my house is just deteriorating fast because the more than four decade-old corrugated steel roofing is already giving way because of the rust that had been eating it since it was first installed in the early 80's.

I was too young back then when this house got built and I haven't been to school yet, so it has been nearly half a century that this house had been standing considering that no renovation had been done to it ever since aside from the terrace area in the front to the house being converted into a room in the early 90's after maybe my father figuring out that this house needs more room because it originally only has two rooms and is too small for me and my siblings.

The is why me and my brother's shared one room when we were young and if my father would come home from abroad, our room will get occupied by my parents and the other one for my sister while me and my brothers would sleep in the living room. It is hard not to get a room of your own because of course there isn't much of a privacy especially if you are developing from a being a young child and through your teenage and then in your College years and I regret to ever experience having no room of my own or rooms of our own as siblings.

So I do not know what was my father was thinking after deciding to have this house built because at least he could have made the three rooms instead of two. This house had been built by my father's cousin as a contractor and the workers that worked here are drunkards. That is why there are bad mistakes that had been done around some sections of this house like for example, when you turn off the shower from the bathroom, it will cut the faucet's water supply in the sink of the kitchen.

Then the other bad work was the flooring should be red in color, but the mason forgot to mix it with cement and only drizzled it over the floor after the cement floor already had been cured. That is why after the house was done, the floor literally has a red pigment powder on it which is can easily be washed-off. That is why the money used to purchase that red pigment powder was wasted leaving us with an ugly floor. So later my mother purchased linoleum sheets for flooring just to cover the ugly reddish flooring.

Then from the late 2000's my sister which worked from abroad decided to beautify the flooring by putting tiles on it until some of the tiles deteriorated through time and also because of the way it was installed as the worker applied grout or cement to stick the tiles which doesn't resist expansion. So some of the tiles had popped-out because this house is prone to heating when the sun is high and the weather is hot. Also later after we experienced getting flooded in the house for the first time, the tiles of the floor got ruined and further deteriorated. The three rooms never got a tile installed which is why we have an ugly bare floor which cannot be beautified anymore by installing other linoleum sheets or tiles because we are now prone to flooding due to climate change here in the entirety of my town where I live.

That's the short story of this house's and its flooring and the connection about the weather system now particularly with climate change is currently affecting us who live in this house. I still am waiting to complete the funds so that I can at least lift our quality of life and it is proving to be hard considering that I will be the only one shouldering it financially because the cost of materials and labor are no joke too because I want to hire an architect and engineer to design the house to give us security, and comfort and freeing us from worrying anymore about this bad weather conditions may it be hot and dry or wet and raining and flooding. I want it conducive for individuals like me and my parents which are more vulnerable about temperature changes and noise pollution so that our quality of live gets more better compared to being miserably living in this very old house.

Well anyway, I hope that this gloomy weather would improve, I can only wish but it has a depressive effect on me and makes me to sleep more in the afternoons and being wide-awake where I should supposed to be sleeping. Thank goodness that I have something to keep me pre-occupied and entertain myself because otherwise it will be a miserable situation that I have to contend with just like before where I do not have a computer ad is also helpless to help myself financially. Now I am more fruitful than ever before thanks be to God and still in high spirits because the hope in my mind will never fade away because I have a God in my life, thanks be to God a million times over.
