Argentinian coat of arms. Its meaning!

in #history7 years ago

The Argentinian coat of arms has an oval shape, with its field divided into two barracks:

*The blue superior represents Justice, Truth, Loyalty and Fraternity.
*The lower white, symbol of Purity, Faith, Integrity, Firmness and Obedience.

In the inferior barracks, two arms interlaced their hands, representing the fraternal union of the men and the people that at that time were the united provinces of the River of the Plate are those that hold a pike, symbol of the Authority, the Command, the Dignity And Sovereignty, at the end of which is located a Phrygian cap (with fall to the left which gives a Jacobin attribution) that represents Freedom, Equality and Sacrifice.

On both sides of the Shield, there are two laurel guides, as a symbol of Victory and Glory, united underneath with a bow ribbon with the national colors. At the top, a rising sun, in gold, representing Truth, Majesty and Prosperity.

The elliptical form of the coat corresponds to the view of a human head from above. In addition, there is a perfect division between the celestial and white colors that symbolize the Argentine Flag.

History of the Coat of Arms

The Argentine National Coat of Arms is one of the first patriotic symbols of the American countries and was created from an explicit request of the Assembly of the Year 1813 to the deputy by San Luis, Don Agustín Donado, for the creation of a shield that would allow them Sign the government's writings. Until then was used the royal arms of Spain. In addition to the need for signature, the government of the United Provinces of the Rio de la Plata needed to create a national currency and the shield would allow it to differentiate itself from other currencies.

Incredibly, the true author of the coat of arms is not known, in fact the creation of the carver Rivera, an artist from Peru called Isitro Antonio de Castro, Bernardo de Monteagudo or even Donado himself.
