How does everyone get a image next to their post in the timeline

Ok so looking at the steemit time line (trending, hot and so on) I see everyone has an image then thier title and a short excerpt please tell me how that is done :)

    This is a great tip particularly to those new to the steem. Short but very accurate info... Appreciate your sharing this one. A must read post!
