Changing your Guitar strings- a quick time saving tip!

in #guitar7 years ago

Hello once again friends! Just wanted to share a quick tip for changing your strings on a Floyd Rose or similar floating bridge. For some this may be common practice, or common sense, but I started doing this years ago to save time and spend more time playing and not setting up and re-tuning the guitar over and over again.

What do I do? I change each string one at a time, rather than remove all the strings and put all 6 new ones on at the same time. By doing this, you have an already stabilized bridge with 5 other strings which are already stretched and tuned to pitch. This makes it much quicker to tune and less messing around and adjusting the bridge, bridge screws, fine tuners, etc.

Now, some players like to remove all of the strings for the purpose of cleaning and oiling the fretboard, bridge parts, etc. but I think his can be done pretty thoroughly with the old strings on, just takes a little more work. That’s all for now people! Comment and share your own tips or tricks!
