Finding the Lost Treasure of Solomon

in #gold7 years ago

A retired firefighter and investigator from Arkansas believes he has found the lost treasure from Solomon's Temple amid the ruins of Qumran, an ancient city near the Dead Sea. Jim Barfield, director of The Copper Scroll Project, has deciphered the ancient Hebrew writing on The Copper Scroll, one of the artifacts which were recovered among the Dead Sea Scrolls near Qumran in 1952. In a brief one hour presentation given July 26, in Enid, Oklahoma, Barfield explained how he used his investigative techniques to find 57 locations in Qumran where the treasured antiquities are hidden. He said The Copper Scroll is a treasure map written by five different men to describe where the treasures were hidden over 2500 years ago. While he pointed out locations on a map, Barfield said that the amount of gold and silver described in just one of the hiding places would be valued at more than one billion dollars. Even more significant is the prospect of finding documents, jewels and treasured artifacts, such are the Ark of the Covenant from the Temple at Jerusalem which were hidden from the invading Babylonian army. At that time Qumran was a religious center used for training rabbis and prophets. The project has not been able to proceed due to the politics involved in a potentially history shaking revelation. Barfield is planning to continue the archeological exploration in the fall of 2017. Interesting. If it proved true it would be one of history's greatest archaeological finds
