My Favourite Online Games!

in #gaming23 days ago

Hello! :)

I haven't seen many people on here make posts about video games, so I thought I would start doing some more often!

I am an avid gamer myself, I spend a lot of time gaming, lol. I like to try different games sometimes, but I usually stick to my comfort games, even if it might seem boring to others, it's what's most comfortable for me!

In no real order at the moment, here are my favourite / most played:

Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 is a team based, first person shooter game. It is actually a sequel to "Overwatch" which came out in 2016. It's a replacement to the previous title. Overwatch 2 was initially supposed to launch with PvE (player vs everyone - a story mode) (as was promised) but unfortunately those plans got scrapped in 2023, which I'm really, really sad about. I hope at some point we get more PvE as I really enjoyed it! Overwatch has such a rich story with really interesting characters & character interactions, so hopefully at some point PvE returns.

The PvP (player vs player) is the focus aspect of the game, and I love it! It does get a bit stressful, especially after game loses, but I still love playing it, especially with friends.

I normally play the support or damage role, but I've started trying to dabble in the tank role a bit more often!

My favourite characters are:

Tank - Zarya, D.va, or Orisa.
Damage - Junkrat, Pharah, Symmetra, Torbjorn.
Support (healing etc) - Mercy, Moira, Kiriko and Juno (new character!).

I recommend this game to everyone! Once you get over the initial learning curve of each characters different abilities, it will get easier!

Fortnite

Fortnite is a battle royale, first person shooter game released in 2017. It's been through many changes over the years, so now it's more of a "hub" for other game modes too, similar to Roblox. I mainly play the first person shooter, music festival (similar to Guitar Hero) modes, but I do dabble in some creative maps.

Fortnite operates in a season & chapter rotation, with a new, themed battle pass every season. These battle passes include skins, sprays, songs, and emotes- which in my opinion is something Fortnite is mostly famous for! Occasionally, the end of seasons or chapters will include an event, which will happen during a random game (if its a small event) or it will have a scheduled time and event mode for a big event, which marks the end of a chapter/season. I really look forward to these!

Sun Haven

Sun Haven is a multiplayer, farming simulator, cosy game. It uses a pixel art style for everything in the game.

It also uses a skill tree progression system which is really fun, I don't see many other farming simulation games doing this.

I love the character customisation options in this, it's a fantasy based game so there are SO MANY options!!! I will do a post about this soon!

I would describe this game as Stardew Valley but fantasy, with a story etc. I really recommend it, especially if you're someone who enjoys decorating your farm, collecting things, getting to know villagers and raising farm animals.

Thank you for reading!

I'm really looking forward to Civilization VII.

I hadn't heard of that! Just had a look at the steam page- it looks cool! Reminds me of Sim City games.
